Other healthy players quitting?

Makes me think you may not be the brightest bulb if you're basing your argument on the above bolded. How is it one could know for certain? One could argue a player could hurt their value by not playing all regular season games.

He is honestly just a dick. It is him I’ll see in my vision if we have a losing record for 5 years. And I’ll smile

Certainly looks like the wheels are coming off this season.

KF doesn't need the $$$ and is probably sticking around so his SIL has a job.

Just end this shitshow!

If I'm KJ and the Doak Walker is off the table, I'd sit.

Nobody gives a shit about a 7-5 season.

Great point….im shocked all the players on those 15 teams that started ahead of us in the polls, Michigan, MO, OU, USC, FSU, Utah, etc haven’t quit & their coaches haven’t been fired.

Weird really, I mean it’s so easy to win football games 🤷‍♂️

I remember 1 month ago videos being posted of Harris speaking very highly of KF and his teammates/former teammates. It’s one thing to opt out of a bowl game but if he quit before seasons end (assuming not injury related)…well then **** him. Sorry to be blunt.

There was a 3rd and 8 play at the end of the game last week. The receiver made the catch but was still probably 5 yards shy. Instead of making the hit and forcing the receiver out of bounds short of the sticks, Harris pulled up and let him backpeddle for a first down to essentially end the game. Had to look terrible on film afterwards. After the play he just kind of stood there with a bewildered look and hands on hips. I thought the whole sequence was odd at the time. I wonder now if it was a harbinger of things to come with him.
2:05 4th quarter
basically taps him like touch football and makes a gesture like "oh man"..... He had a chance to hit him or push him out of bounds.
Did neither.

Even Debbie fans at 5-5 still give a shit. Says a lot about you. Maybe you need a better team to follow.

Absolutely @MitchLL @MeetTheFerentzes @RagnarLothbrok and others like them live in a vacuum, they aren’t aware how many teams with higher ranked players and higher paid coaches are shitting the bed all around them and have forever and ever.

And here’s the deal I’m actually tired of KF myself. I could care less if he retires, but they’re not gonna be any easier on the next Coach because they honestly think they should win every damn game, and they’ll come on here and pretend like they don’t, but in reality They’ll bitch about the next guy just as much.

It’s their character

This would be the equivalent of a college kid quitting their part time job at McDonald’s with no notice and being forced to give all his pay back.
Not necessarily. Structure the payment(s) so they have to complete the season...somehow.

But really, at this point, cut to the chase...sign them with pro style contracts. Quit dinking around, it isn't working. IMO.

I wouldn't be so sure. I think you'll see a large dent in attention to it. People won't have anything to "attach" to. I LOVE CFB, but I got better stuff to do on the weekends that if I can't keep track of who is on "my" team, I won't bother. I believe there will be a significant amount of folks who feel the same.
I agree 100% and, in my case, it already is becoming much less appealing. I also find the money grab to be deplorable. I have followed Iowa since 1957, so I am not a fair-weather fan.

Kakert confirmed Cade did not make the trip and sounds like Harris may not have as well.
Well, things are looking up. Ferentz seems determined that Cade is his guy, no matter how much he sucks in a game. Kids at other positions had better not make any mistakes or they may wind up standing on the sideline. But with Cade, anything goes. Why is the QB, arguably the most important figure on the team exempt from his doghouse.

That doesn't address the issue negatively impacting college football.
You mean money?

These games are not meaningless. 8-4 is a lot better than 6-6. Better bowl, more satisfying. It's important to the program to win as many games as possible. Important for the fans (most of them), important for recruiting.

What does it take for a CF game to be meaningful? A championship or CFP spot? That's it? Well, then there are about 100 football programs in the FBS that didn't even need to suit up this year.

I'm gonna be really pissed if important players skip these games.

Honestly with the CFP in play, if you aren’t playing for it the games aren’t meaningful. Iowa State loses one more time it’s over.

Ferentz is just hanging around to pass Woody Hayes.

The way things are going, it sure as hell isn't happening this year
And if he doesn't figure shit out soon, he's going to fall below that .600 winning percentage for the Hall of Fame.
Edit: He’s actually under .600 now. So essentially, KF FAFO.

Seriously it’s KFs fault we got absolutely assaulted on defense by MSU who hasnt won since?

It’s KFs fault UCLA ran up and down the field on us?

Or that Iowa St passed it down the field in 39 seconds on a game we had won?

That absolutely cannot be… I have had no less than 50 posters assure me the defense was all Phil Parker. @RagnarLothbrok @MeetTheFerentzes @83Hawk @Phenomenally Frantastic and on and on and on…

Quite frankly, I’m disappointed in the season too… That’s the only reason I finally popped back in so I could get a little bit of joy jacking with you buffoons.

Who’s fault is it Iowa State lost to, two wildly inferior teams in the middle of their epic season…

How about Lincoln Riley… How about Mike Norvel…?

Do you guys actually know how sports works?

11 playoff games is a lot of good football and more than enough games.

The bowl games mean less than ever and more players sitting out will only make it worse.

Jermari Harris
2 star
Offers from: Ball St, IN St, Eastern Ill and NDSU

It's likely most of college football/NFL would have never have heard of his name if Iowa didn't offer.
If he isn't injured I have a tough time cheering for this young man moving forward when these players/coaches/university stuck by him and turned him into a draft pick.
If he is injured and simply can't go I get it.

Made up

Don’t they have to repay the scholarship from this year if they quit? Or is this more of he’s still on the team and able to use the facilities, just not playing. Will he be welcomed at Iowa’s Pro Day?

I simply don't agree. I assure you the guys that are still playing want to beat MD and Nebby, and so do I. They might not be crucial games, but beating a B1G opponent is never meaningless.

I’m not talking about the players. I’m talking about the fans. I assume if players put the pads on they are serious about it.

Well not ALL the fans. I'd rather be 8-4 than 6-6 and go to a decent bowl game.

I want the Hawks to win tomorrow and next Friday despite the fact that there is very little on the line. My weekends are better when the Hawks win. ;)
