Other healthy players quitting?

Well not ALL the fans. I'd rather be 8-4 than 6-6 and go to a decent bowl game.

I want the Hawks to win tomorrow and next Friday despite the fact that there is very little on the line. My weekends are better when the Hawks win. ;)

Me too & Im on record 8-4 sucks. But honestly, I’m to the point sports get less meaningful for me every year. I’ve watched less football this year than anytime in the last 30 years and the fans…I am absolutely sick and tired of their bitching, whining, ungrateful attitudes.

I have definitely switched to being more interested in nfl, went live to Houston to see bills Texans…. What a good time

The nightmare continues. Hats off to the kid for not quitting and trying to be there for his team. I respect that.
He receives a SWARM paycheck, and he sure as shit isn't going pro. I'm assuming he wants to continue to collect that paycheck. Logic seems to be falling short with ya.

All the evidence supports my claim, and it's silly to try a refute it. Maybe you've been gone too long to remember how Kirk's mind as a QB whisperer works.

There is no evidence… Hell, I’ve seen KF put players back in after fumbling in recent years that never used to happen. TJ Hall and all of our DBs have gotten multiple chances. Hell every wide receiver we have drops the ball routinely. We’ve had shit ass offensive lineman that couldn’t block for several years.

It’s a completely made up bullshit narrative that you and your myopic pals have convinced yourself is true.

There IS NO evidence. Some of you guys honestly are dumb as post.

Seriously it’s KFs fault we got absolutely assaulted on defense by MSU who hasnt won since?

It’s KFs fault UCLA ran up and down the field on us?

Or that Iowa St passed it down the field in 39 seconds on a game we had won?

That absolutely cannot be… I have had no less than 50 posters assure me the defense was all Phil Parker. @RagnarLothbrok @MeetTheFerentzes @83Hawk @Phenomenally Frantastic and on and on and on…

Quite frankly, I’m disappointed in the season too… That’s the only reason I finally popped back in so I could get a little bit of joy jacking with you buffoons.

Who’s fault is it Iowa State lost to, two wildly inferior teams in the middle of their epic season…

How about Lincoln Riley… How about Mike Norvel…?

Do you guys actually know how sports works?
The issue is the last years of the Ferentz regime are eerily similar to the last few Fry years.
Fans dread that, or at least I do.

Absolutely @MitchLL @MeetTheFerentzes @RagnarLothbrok and others like them live in a vacuum, they aren’t aware how many teams with higher ranked players and higher paid coaches are shitting the bed all around them and have forever and ever.

And here’s the deal I’m actually tired of KF myself. I could care less if he retires, but they’re not gonna be any easier on the next Coach because they honestly think they should win every damn game, and they’ll come on here and pretend like they don’t, but in reality They’ll bitch about the next guy just as much.

It’s their character
Iowa continually loses 1/2 games every season as healthy favorites in games.
So far this season...MSU and UCLA, with Maryland a distinct possibility.

Not true? Ever hear of Spenser Petras or Deacon Hill. And going back a ways, Jay Christensen or James Vandenberg (who took every snap in a 4-8 season). And are really going to try and make a case for McNamara? When he is actually healthy, which is rare, he was still highly ineffective. I think I'm done with you. No point arguing with someone that doesn't recognize facts. Welcome back! I had almost forgotten what a miserable SOB you are.

Hmm…. Thank goodness that doesn’t happen to anybody else, oh wait it does actually.

Iowa State, USC, Oklahoma, etc. etc. keep pretending like Iowa is unique. They are not if you’re expecting this team or your favorite team to win 90+ percent of their games you need to go follow Ohio State or this version of Alabama or Georgia at least until they don’t win 90% of their games

I can’t believe how spoiled Iowa fans have gotten over the years. Five years of losing seasons will do the fan base good.

It's kinda funny, and so 2024, that wild speculation and cries that the whole FB program is in shambles, the staff has lost the team, and guys are jumping ship left and right...

All to find out one guy made a buisness decision to sit, making sure he stays healthy for the upcoming draft.

1 guy. The horror.

🤣

You said this…

“”””Kids at other positions had better not make any mistakes or they may wind up standing on the sideline.””””

And it’s made up. He gives players lots of chances.

You are indeed, right about arguing with somebody “like you“ who refuses to embrace reality

Hmmmm, really…..talk to me about that. A non competitive 3-8? Poor talent or very young talent….let’s compare. Not even remotely accurate.

So you either are that a unknowledgeable or just being disingenuous… KFs last 10 years have actually been his best 10 years, whereas Hayden‘s last 10 years were far away his worst.

Not even close actually… So again, tell me how they compare

So far this year K-st who has a coach many of your patriots would love to have have lost games as 7 1/2 pt favorites, 13 point favorite and a 7 1/2 point favorite.

Whoaaaasa who knew? Thank goodness, he isn’t our coach. People that compartmentalize things into such tight packages have always baffled me.

College sports are becoming a joke, that's for sure.

Maybe we should ask the NFL owners to pay the schools, who then pay the players. After all, colleges are developing the players & feeding the NFL teams with players.

It's ridiculous that a booster like Brad Heinrichs has to beg Iowa fans to donate money to SWARM.
Now wait a second, Trump just won the election because so many people are crying about not having enough money to live and you are talking about poor Brad H having to beg for Swarm dollars.

I really cant justify donating to college athletes who can leave in a year, not be very good, etc. I have better places to put my donations.

If this whole NIL and player payments shit starts to balance out maybe with some ceilings on payments etc to level the competitive playing field and if it looks like the hawks could get a few national top caliber players maybe I would donate.

But to me right now this is like throwing money in a bonfire

Is it ever dishonorable to quit on your team? If so, when, and why at that point would it be so?
Once the team has achieved every possible goal that it can for that season (for Iowa, it's bowl eligibility), then I say every man for himself. If a player quits with bowl eligibility on the line or while in a conference title/playoff race, that is dishonorable.

Anything else?

Add to the quandary is Iowa fans seeing the lack of ROI on Cade using NIL $$$.

You may be right, and time will certainly tell. I'd rather go play tennis or golf with friends or work in the yard if it's a bunch of players I have no clue about or who they are year after year after year---hell, now it appears to be from game-to-game.
You're right; some will continue regardless, but the impact will be real.
Yeah, one of the best things about college sports is watching those new players come aboard, grow, play, get better, and be a star. And you could watch them for 3-5 years with redshirt time

This is where it starts….it’s not where it ends.

Um, because he'll be playing for a big NFL contract, not just the sentiments of his college football team's fan base?
Well our DB that just quit won’t make much of a pro. Maybe a special teams guy. He was crap at UCLA. Frankly I won’t lose any sleep if he flames out. Bad approach for him.

He is honestly just a dick. It is him I’ll see in my vision if we have a losing record for 5 years. And I’ll smile
So glad I've been living rent-free in your head during your board sabbatical.
You'll smile if the team starts to totally suck? And you claim to be some kind of superfan so far above everyone else? LOL

Yes…we have talent it has been inconsistent and underperformed. Not much the coaches can do really
Yeah, coaches are never responsible for their players being inconsistent and underperforming. LOL

He’s projected to go mid round. UCLA tape and quitting on his team isn’t helping his draft stock. There is value to having your school and alumni supporting you if playing in the NFL doesn’t work out. Which for most 5th-7th round picks, it doesn’t.

5 years of losing seasons will put 45k in the stands. This is not the old NCAA days or 80s90s etc. this is real time. Spoiled? We need to be prepared to get RUN over. Different game and time. It is not CFB anymore. It is semi-pro and players ducking out and having 6-7 game win seasons are not going to put peoples asses in the stands. Those days are over.

Better have a big checkbook and a staff that knows what to do in the current marketplace.

Maybe not quit the team (contract) but quit running hard or giving 100% if his team doesn't have a chance for the playoffs and SB. A good partial season is not a resume builder but a good full season is.

Also favored in ISU game. Hawks have lost 4 of last 6 at at home vs ISU. Only one of those ISU teams finished over .500 and that's this years team.

Well that’s good Iowa had a 7 win season in 9 years and only 3 in the same time frame not including 6-2 Covid & this year, so that’s good!
