Reed stuck himself in this match and didn't even realize it. They showed this on the news last night as the "highlight".

Sounds like Weatherspoon was getting whipped when pinned.

Fun post from CF:
"So for an update to the meet thru 9 matches we have 1 takedown, 1 reversal, and a guy who was getting his a** kicked got a lucky defensive fall"

Also, just read ISU had 1 takedown all night.

This sucks. Sorenson almost a sure fire 4 seed now. The NCAA loves to force B10 guys to eliminate each other in the quarters and semis. Unless something crazy happens the head to head matches make it easy for them to seed this one Zain, Mayes, Collica, Sorenson. Oh well I guess when you don't attack that's what happens.

Barring one of the guys being tripped up unexpectedly- unless Sorensen gets a shot at Mayes a National Duals then he will have to beat Retherford at B1Gs or NCAA semis to make the NCAA finals.

Well you get what you earn. Sorensen had every opportunity to blaze his trail seed-wise, and lost to Collica, which should NEVER happen. He absolutely has the ability to beat everyone in the weight class. Whether he does or not will be entirely up to him. I wouldn't cry for him one way or another, he has he ability to make it as far as he wants to go.

Really don't think, as some do here, that Sorensen is an automatic 4 seed. Seeding takes into account last years placing, whether they should or not. Plus, two double overtime losses, will not be as big a deterent as many think. Still see him getting a two or three seed.

I disagree with last year's placing. See Metcalf's senior year getting the 2 seed after previously being a champ and having 1 loss on the year. Which if i remember right was a 1 point snoozer of a loss to Palmer in B10 finals. Among many others every year that get jobbed by the seeding committee (not just Hawks either). They won't care that he lost in double ot by 2 seconds. They only care about the result. He lost to the 3 seed. He lost to the 1 seed. The 2 beat the 3. Gives them a B10 vs L12 final. The L stands for little12.

You have to cheer on Zain assuming PSU meets Pokes in the duals. Or maybe Collica will be feeling under the weather that day and skip it.

If BS gets the 4 seed then so be it. You get what you earn.

That said, there is a lot of wrestling left and anybody could still drop one prior to Nationals. It would be ideal if Missouri gets matched up with Iowa or Ohio State at national duals. I would like BS or Jordan over Mayes.

Anyone else see the two takedowns I Jordan scored on Vincenzo?
Meyer's gotta learn that one.
Basically, Joseph in on IJordan's leg and Jordan stretches Joseph out than steps over Josephs head. Jordan scored twice with that and got back points on the last one. Was the difference in that match.

He almost scored on that earlier. Horrible awareness by Joseph to end that match. He was the only one that didn't see that stepover coming late in the 3rd. Let that leg go young man.

Not how it went. Joseph on top leading 4-2 with less than 20 seconds and got reversed. Joseph shot and Jordan was able to stretch Joseph out and step over for the takedown and victory in OT

You're right.
Thought it was 2 backs at end.
Either way, I see a lot of Alex Meyer in I Jordan

Nobody saw them. He reversed him twice, the 2nd time in last 5 seconds of regulation.

I think Sorenson still in line for 2/3 seed at nationals w/a 2nd at B1Gs. Zain will hand AC a bonus loss in NattyDuals.

I don't see how zain beating collica helps us. I wish you were right but I am pretty sure you are wrong.

If Sorensen doesn't lose again, he will be no worse than the 3, IMO. If history tells us anything, NCAA placement will hold more weight than his loss to Collica. Don't see how they could seed Mayes above Brandon.
