Seems eerily similar to 2008 (without the hindsight of knowing one of the lineman will be a first round selection).Johnson has been the savior for the offense this year.
Without him and this offense is bottom of the nation again.

...and we still don't throw the ball very well. Better in second half, some to receivers tooEveryone continues to stack the box too!
Colby got destroyed on so many plays today. We’ll see how improved they are starting next week.Hilarious thread. The OL and the offense in general are vastly improved. What are you people watching?
3 steps above dog shit is just the same as dog shit, no matter what color of lipstick you try to put on the pig. The fact that it’s even a debate after playing three shit squads should be all the explanation you need lmfao.
The mere fact that none of these experienced OLinenen were good enough to be considered NFL ready should tell us about their talent level.Colby got destroyed on so many plays today. We’ll see how improved they are starting next week.

Correct. Not trying to play the game of what if he wasn’tBut, he is there. That’s the reality. Iowa has 3 pretty solid RBs and one of them is very, very good.
Such are the fortunes of football. All sports are his a team can handle attrition and who gets injured.Correct. Not trying to play the game of what if he wasn’t
But were also one injury away from losing the only guy who can consistently make a big play for us.
Jazz, Moulton are more like ARob. Nice burst, they’ll break off a 20-40 yarder once in a while. They usually get caught tho.
Johnson can score from anywhere. So if he goes down, we have to rely on 35+ play drives which Iowa hasn’t shown the consistency for stringing together more than 6
45 carries for 284 yards. Over 6 yards a Carry. Id say that’s pretty damn good. Should we have run for 350 or more? 284 has to be one of our best games in awhile. Look, we gave up a few big plays but our o line and running game has been excellent this year.It doesn’t help we have an average QB who has limited mobility, but when we continue to whiff on blocks our offense is going nowhere.
His QB rating Saturday was 146. Not too shabby !Partially true. If a QB is getting pressured, they have to throw the ball more quickly resulting in less YPA. Cade was 111th coming into this game. When you watch the individual match ups, they’re getting beat which ultimately leads to pressures and sacks. Getting pressured, hits or sacks leads to QB’s not being able to set their feet and drive the ball which impacts accuracy. Cade had a high completion rate this game but ranked very poorly coming into this game.
Mike JonesColby will be the first 4 year starter under fry or kf to not make the nfl i think.
Good memory.Mike Jones
Which is really confusing. Iowa Te and WR’s have always been known to be great blockers.Good memory.
I also need to mention our TE’s are really bad run blockers.
