We just played #4 on the road. The good news is we will have several more opportunities to beat a top ten team coming up. After a couple of more warm-up games (Drake and Tennessee Tech), things are about to get very challenging.
We start at home versus #1 MSU. Then we go on the road against #11 Purdue. Then we get Nebraska at home. Then we go on the road against MSU.
The next 4 games after that are not much easier. We have Michigan at home and Rutgers on the road. Then we get Purdue at home and #6 Maryland on the road.
In total, 5 of our first 8 games in the Big Ten are against teams ranked in the Top 11 and three of those games are on the road. If we can win 4 of these games and get at least one upset, that would be a great start to the Big Ten.
I feel like this may be a season where we have a really high KenPom raking (we are currently no. 14), and a solid RPI, but are a bubble team due to an incredibly difficult schedule. We really need to upset MSU or Purdue at home to pad our resume.
