Out of the loop re: McNamara

I really hope it's just health issues and that those can be corrected. I don't know how he could possibly transfer and play another season of FBS football, but if there is some loophole, more power to him. That being said, there was a podcast from this site when he transferred to Iowa and the hosts brought in a journalist from Michigan. What that journalist described as Cade's behavior at Michigan could be playing out at Iowa as well. Everything from him being the ultimate team guy when things were going well and they made their playoff push, to him becoming distant and contentious when the competition for the starting quarterback job was opened up.

Did he not walk on the field as a Senior?
I have no idea. This thread hasn't really cleared things up in my opinion. Here's the timeline as I see it:

1. CM throws a pick 6 and gets sat down
2. Coaches say he's concussed but always give the impression the door is open for him to return
3. Coaches say he isn't cleared yet, etc.
4. Some journos say they hear he isn't happy, is pouting, wants to opt out, etc.
5. CM releases a statement that he's still committed
6. Coaches say he's cleared and put him at QB1 on the depth chart
7. Coaches go "just kidding" and then he's nowhere to be seen on the depth chart

I'm sure the order or nature of some of these events is wrong, but how close am I?

Why?? Did the walk on offensive lineman that never played get the same applause as Jay Higgins?? Is there a rule you need to clap the same for everyone?!?
Are you seriously asking b/c you don’t know? The answer is b/c th may not have ever played, but they showed up every day and worked their butt off at practice and contributed in ways that the rest of us don’t see on game day. They are still a part of the Iowa Football Family, and part of the brotherhood of the current team. Btw, don’t you think after contributing in anonymity for four-five years, giving them a moment on the field with their family is still a big moment for them and the right thing to do?

He'll probably figure out a way to squeeze out maybe another $100k from some other program dumb enough to take the bait.

He's a short, slow, noodle arm, phony.
Nice. So the guys had three serious leg injuries the last three years. His team mates named HIM a team captain and respect him, and internet guy calls him "a phony". Pretty much sums up some of the posts we see here.....

Well his first week after his NW/concussion game he was STILL VOTED a team captain. After that he no longer was.

It's plausible something DID happen and they no longer wanted him as a captain, they no longer respected him, and he is a phony.

I might be wrong, but I don't remember him named #1 on the depth chart again. If it was it was probably the Monday one which is meaningless. He was cleared to practice, but he has never been cleared to play in the games since the concussion.

OR its possibly your talking out your ass like most of your posts. Team captains are voted on by the team before the season. I'm pretty sure Kirk makes adjustments during the season, and you rarely ever see guys who aren't active as team captains. He said in the presser that Logan Jones deserved that recognition when they made the change

Did Kirk tell you this or you just talking out of your ass like most of your posts?

Just saying it is PLAUSIBLE something happened.

Definitely all on Kirk and Brian. This becomes Lester’s offense after the bowl game, including getting a portal quarterback.
We need more then a QB. We need receivers who can get open and catch the ball, linemen- offense and defense. defensive backs,

He fooled a lot of people for awhile. No longer fooling Iowa. He can go fool someone else.
SO, did Dan Doering or Blake Larson fool Iowa for three years? Were they phonys? 4 and 5 star guys who never lived up to their potential at Iowa because of multiple injuries. And before you go to the "yea but the money", if the swarm was around back then, they would have been paid as well as they were two of the highest rated players ever at Iowa.

The man was paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to do a job and he was absolutely pathetic at that job, so much so that his play humiliated the program. He didn’t deserve to walk on senior day no matter how hard he tried. That shits for the guys who don’t get it all handed to them, not the guys who get paid more than anyone on the team while being a bottom feeder on the field then crying about getting benched for a walkon linebacker.

Cade is a fool who doesn’t realize he isn’t a player at this level and he is extremely lucky he was able to monetize his “talent” in any way.

At least I'm basing my comment on actual events. Yours is based on conjecture because you want to throw some more negative crap out there just like 90% of your other posts.....

I'd prefer to let the man who leads this team decide who "deserves" to walk, and who gets to play because I'm damn sure he has the pulse of the program much more the a couple of internet posters who do nothing but bitch win or lose......

Can you be the clap police at Kinnick next year for Senior Day??? If every Hawk fan doesn’t clap the same for every player, then they are kicked out of Kinnick? That’s the lord’s work.
I never said they shouldn’t be allowed to go out there and have their moment as a senior.
I said Jay Higgins had the loudest cheers by far.

I’ve said this for years, but there is something horrendous about our passing scheme. People like to say we don’t have the speed or anything, but one can watch college ball all day and see wr’s either against us or against other teams wide open for catches. For whatever reason, we don’t get that. I despise our complete unwillingness to throw the ball down field or the deep crossing routes. I don’t know if our scheme relies on all 15 yard routes or what, but one thing has remained the same through all of the different coordinators since KOK and that is KF. Seems like the last time we had a passing attack that was respectable was when KOK was our coordinator.

I think you need to realize you know the same amount about Cade as the rest of us post Northwestern. Zero. STFU and get off your high horse.
Also I'm mostly complementary of Iowa Football because I realize the program has limitations. Anything you perceive as negative is mostly meant to be a joke. Again STFU

Well, obviously Cade didn’t feel like he deserved it either. And Ferentz telling everyone that he was cleared to play, then that he made the choice to not walk, tells you everything you need to know. There is not going to be be any love lost between camps.

He’s still trying to protect himself and Brian for bringing in, and paying a guy, lots of money and it being a total failure.

Was that response meant for me? If so, The question was asked, “why…” I simply answered and never mentioned who or how much people should clap,,, I only answered a question.

Okay. If you say so.....

What a douchey reply. The question was asked, “why…” I simply answered and never mentioned who or how much people should clap,,, I only answered a question.
The question was “why”, as in, why does it justify Cade’s decision to not walk on senior day because he wouldn’t get a loud ovation? Of course everyone should walk and be acknowledged, my point was that I cheered different for different players, just like the entire stadium.

I'll give you this. At least your consistent. Like the "obviously Cade didn't feel he deserved it" You nave NO idea why he did that, but as always you continue to post whatever you can that throws shade on KF, or the Iowa program. Just be you though, at least we know ahead of time whats coming win or lose.....

I was happy with the win. I stayed through the end with my 7 year old who went to his first game. It was complete luck, but I’ll take it.

Cade McNamara was a terrible player for Iowa and left crying and refusing to be with his team. He hilariously did the same at Michigan.

This is the thing about collectives and NIL. Dude had a great resume, won a B10 Championship. Had high stock.

Iowa was coming off Petras and needed a solid at QB.

Just didn't pan out.
This. He knew he was going to be pushed out at UM by a faster, better QB. He wanted/needed another chance at a Power 4 school and Iowa definitely needed a QB upgrade. It didn’t work out for whatever reason, unfortunately for both parties.

I thought it was odd how the last play of Cade's Iowa career went down.

A pick six thrown to Northwestern. Did he get concussed on that play?

Because for a while afterwards, I thought the pick six was when his poor play became poor enough that even KF had to try a different QB.

Then later I learn that apparently he got concussed on that pick six play... at least that's what we're told.

You do realize then when Cade had the surgery in California because the Michigan doctors didn't agree with the surgery, (basically the same thing that happened to Eric All) that the Michigan doctors were not going to clear Cade to play again after his surgery. Thats why he left....

No, I quoted your reply which only asked “..why does. and I answered it. Your reply back to me was totally douchey, (clap police etc. you are the one asking about and trying to understand the bevel ofcpppaise, not me), and then you attempt to change the wording of what you actually asked. But don’t worry, your quote and reply are here to be referenced.
Here is your quote against you can quit trying to redefine your question. And, I still stand by my answer (which high is correct btw).
Why would you go through all that work and miss everything by a mile?
I asked “why” to a question to a response that stated, “Justifies his decision.”
Which was in response to me stating that Cade had been awful, that I cheered really loud for Jermari Harris, and that I would have been silent for Cade.
So I asked “why”. Why was Cade’s decision justified because he wouldn’t have been cheered as loudly as many Hawkeyes?!?
Every senior deserves a chance to be recognized. Not every one is going to be cheered the same. That’s life. 🤷‍♂️

I believe it was on a play in the previous series, and he didn't start showing symptoms until after that turnover. He probably thought he was okay, after the earlier hit.
