Retiring of several all time greats and Sparty in town. See you there! Go Hawks!
I'm still confused why you think this is a must win game? You never answered me beforeRetiring of several all time greats and Sparty in town. See you there! Go Hawks!
They ain't come to school for sports!Tell the students. They will be the no shows.
insert Iowa cheerleader with lightning bolts gif (also a game against MSU)
I reiterate my offer to buy a pair of tickets for anyone who wants to go and yell loud. Go Hawks
Give them the seats that all the other schools do, and they will come!Tell the students. They will be the no shows.

OSU has a good setup. Too bad it didn't help their players. 🤣🤣🤣
Hopefully Barta let's them in for free, a lot more seem to show up then...Tell the students. They will be the no shows.

You're right; they didn't come to school for sports. They came to drink and otherwise screw around for five or six years, accrue massive debt, play Pokémon, and leave with an often useless degree. Attending sports events has no place in that demanding agenda.
.I am really not sure that is true. Purdue has the same seats as Iowa and they are packed.
.
Purdue student basketball tickets are FREE. At Purdue students pay $135 (2022-2023 prices) for a "Boarding Pass" that guarantees a football ticket. All other sports are FREE, with the pass.
$135 is basically free, as it costs the school at least that much to process & administer tickets to sporting events. Admin staff, ticket takers, security personnel are not volunteers...
Iowa students paid ($190) just for football ONLY, in 2021. It'll probably go up in 2022.

If Iowa were to put students on the floor in sections B-F, the first 10 rows of B, C & D (with a couple of empty rows behind for the old fogies that scream "sit down"), then the same for sections LL-HH, the first 10 rows of LL, KK & JJ, like OSU, MSU and others do, that would help create a better basketball experience. And make it FREE for football ticket holders, with a cap on tickets allowed; First-come, First-served. Or a lottery of some sort.
Why not try this? With the added student fans, The university would make more money on concessions that would at least partially offset the costs. It would help the atmosphere for certain.
Where did you get your degree?"Tell the students. They will be the no shows," elicited the response above. Here's mine:

I heard 15 min before game for everyone besides Garza. @jellyfish10Does anyone know what time the pregame festivities begin? @Suterman maybe you can help me with this one? We are sitting right behind Izzo so I’m looking forward to exchanging pleasantries with him throughout the game.
Students are not your prime concession audience. At any sporting event. That would be families with small kids. And I guarantee those small kids can make more noise than any of Iowa's pitiful student section showings this year..

There are probably some clouds outside you could go yell at."Tell the students. They will be the no shows," elicited the response above. Here's mine:

That's quite the logical response. Where'd you get your degree? I'm guessing McDonald's University where academics are so serious they don't even have sports. There are probably some clouds outside you could go yell at.
U of I. You are a bitter old man, huh? Have a great day and don't kick any puppies today. That's quite the logical response. Where'd you get your degree? I'm guessing McDonald's University where academics are so serious they don't even have sports.
Yeah. My son has a boarding pass at Purdue. Honestly I don't know if he would attend if he had to pay for his own tickets. 🙄.

it seems to have? However the Thunder-ice storms this morning were a bit interesting.Hoping weather improves quickly.
Roads just an issue. Hard to treat ice when it's cold, windy and overcast. I'm leaving shortly to give myself plenty of time.it seems to have? However the Thunder-ice storms this morning were a bit interesting.
As they say, there's always an excuse if you need one. Appreciate everyone who is able to suck it up and get to Carver. The team deserves a loud and engaged crowd."Bad road conditions"
"6pm game, tough to make with kids"
"After a holiday, busy night catching up on work"
Traveled 80 just a bit ago from IC to western Iowa. Watch for troopers. There were a ton out. Couple had people pulled over which surprised me with this weather.Roads just an issue. Hard to treat ice when it's cold, windy and overcast. I'm leaving shortly to give myself plenty of time.
Not at all surprised. Sometimes it seems that bad weather brings out the crazies. 🤪Traveled 80 just a bit ago from IC to western Iowa. Watch for troopers. There were a ton out. Couple had people pulled over which surprised me with this weather.
Exactly! Would hate to see habitual DUI offenders drive in this weather...Not at all surprised. Sometimes it seems that bad weather brings out the crazies. 🤪
Judging by the map presented in the link you provided, it appears there's about 500 seats still available.Retiring of several all time greats and Sparty in town. See you there! Go Hawks!
Yep, they've sold well. Weather probably keeps it just shy of a sellout.Judging by the map presented in the link you provided, it appears there's about 500 seats still available.
