Pathetic showing

I mean I get it but the biggest city in the state can’t fill this place up once a year on a Saturday when there is no snow. Says something.
We got there at halftime of the men’s game. Be real - fan apathy toward Fran and program has been building for years. Fans came to see Caitlyn Clark and the women’s team. Most don’t care about the men’s team - or if they do - they watch with a passing interest.

Yep. Was gonna say, guess we can stop blaming Carver for the lack of attendance. People simply aren't turning out to watch this program these days. Just a lack of passion in general from the fanbase. Especially since it sounds like the women got a great turnout.
Women had no problem filling the arena. And considering we were playing Cleveland State (nice team at 9-1) … it was a good crowd. Great environment and nice to see Clark in person.

Maybe the other ones got her name right?

Gotcha I just didn't know if people could say where it goes or if Brad splits certain %'s of NIL to all programs.
The Swarm Collective (General Fund) - 75% to FB, 12.5% to MBB, 12.5% to WBB. Percentage splits are equal and pretty much align with the number of athletes per team. This General Fund is fueled by one-time donations less than $1000, and by monthly recurring donations less than $100 per month. The minimum recurring donation is $20/month for a year ($240).

$1000 or larger one-time donations, or $100 or more recurring monthly donations can be directed to any of the 22 sports (as of 9/23/2023) by the donor.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Moving outside The Swarm Collective mentioned above is:

The Swarm, Inc- Business donors requesting specific Student Athletes for their services.

Reality look. Our men’s b-ball team has been a fairly garbage program for DECADES. There is nothing to get excited about the men’s b-ball program…NOTHING! Completely irrelevant program and couldn’t win the West Fort Dodge church league.
“Garbage” programs don’t make the NCAA tournament 5/6 years. Find something else to lose sleep over.

Thanks buddy, it'd be nice to see the baseball program get some NIL $. If we could get to the CWS Iowa faithful may take over Omaha.

Did not look good. But these tickets were a package deal I believe. They sold out within minutes. The people just didn't show up for the men. I actually think the demand for the women may have pushed out some people that would have showed for the men.
And a lot of people at the game brought little girls; you aren't going to take an under 10-year-old kid to 4 1/2 hours of basketball and expect it to go well.

These "bluehairs" have been mucking up the seating for 40+ years. How long are these suckers gonna live anyway?
Blue hairs buy a season’s worth of tickets months before the games are played and mail in the check.

The tick tock nation of “if it’s on ESPN and they promise me a court side selfie crowd” won’t do that.

Fran made the decision?
Would UNI and Drake play at Carver only?
They canceled the series because Barta said they needed more home games. Fine. Then we go play Florida A % M who is a bottom 50 team in the country in Des Moines. Great idea.

I personally don't think UNI should play at Iowa or ISU without a return game. But they might, if the price is right.

Is it worse to occasionally get beat on the road at UNI, or occasionally beat at home and pay them handsomely for it?

Either way, UNI has sort of moved on and usually has a tough enough non-conference schedule as it is.
