PD2 was having an interesting exchange with Dan Gable Statue (parody account for those confused) on Twitter. Wouldn't be surprised at all to see him outside of carver Hawkeye trying to fight him.
If Vegas had a line on it Downey would be the favorite. Downey would have to stay eligible and make the weight first though.
And get healthy. ;-)

Good point on him being eligible by next fall. Given what we've seen with the thug ISU had at 157 last season and the Harrington saga... Downey might just be in line to be a gang leader. The fine, devoted fans that ISU has left must be shaking their heads on what the program has became since KJ arrived. At some point, the ISU program must decide what they value as a team. Do you continue to sacrifice ethics to win a few more matches?
There's ALWAYS a reason when an athlete moves around as much as Downey has. And it's not always someone else that is at fault. Well, maybe in Daddy Downey's world it is, but normally you look at the common denominator.
I agree with you 99.9%. They should not post about their own kids. Slims is a message board junkie and I've never really seen him post anything about his son. You have to have some thick skin to stick around. Anyone seen Roughrider or coach sparky around?
Iowa parents post on this board. IMO they are not always the greatest posts either. Nothing to the extreme of PD2 or RRF, but it does happen here too.
I agree and also feel like message board posters should NOT post anything about the Iowa wrestlers that they wouldn't say to the parents or wrestlers face.

I disagree. We get some good info from parents on this board. Parents have to realize however that boards are an outlet for fans to vent frustration about an athletes performance. If nobody posted anything critical the board would be pretty dull. Parents can't be thin skinned that's all. PBS has contributed a ton to this board and so have Jaysdad and JRents pop.
Regarding RRF, I believe he stopped posting ANYWHERE once things went south for the third time about the middle of last season. At this point for young Meeks... it should be about securing that degree and planning for life after college. Sometimes things just don't pan out like you hoped it would.
From everything i hear Meeks works his tail off and will trying to be the starter next year at 41.
I think the issue for ISU next season will be some combination of Boston/Hall/Simmons at the first three weights. Thus... Meeks only chance will be 149 where he will have an extreme strength disadvantage. I think the ship has sailed for young Meeks. KJ wants that eligibility used up and the scholly $$$ freed up.
You might be right but at least he's trying. Simmons will be incredibly small at 41. They said he could have made 25 this year. Hall should get down to 25. It would be best for him and the team. It's easy to tell someone to cut their butt off though.
Think what it will be in 10 years when the social media age kids become adults and have kids.......I'm afraid PD2 will be weak sauce.
Easy fix. People can post on a Russian or Chinese message board and they'll just post your thoughts for you.
I certainly try to refrain from telling anybody else how to live or what to say, how to act, etc., so I'll just say in my opinion if you treat people like you'd like to be treated, it shouldn't get too bad anywhere (if you're easily offended or have thin skin, stay home, alone, and stay off all forms of communication with the outside world).
Life's a bitch at times, you sign-up for anything in the public eye at any level, you take the good with the bad and deal with it as best you can.
