It’s really too bad that business travel has disappeared, not that you would have seen much of it on a Tampa-Atlanta flight around the holidays, if just for the proportion of people it added that wanted to get from A to B as efficiently and painlessly as possible
They certainly were when we flew with them from Tampa-Atlanta-Athens, Greece and back earlier this year.
Everyone I saw complied with the mask requirements, other than the brief time when they came around with the inedible food. Not a single person died from lack of oxygen due to having the mask on.
Just to make sure everyone clearly understands. They absolutely enforce the masks up until the point of the food service…and then after the food service. But during the time of the Ginger ale and Almonds, everyone I could see around me how their mask off the entire time of the 5 to 10 minutes of snacking.
If I were that concerned about encountering someone without a mask the last thing I would do is fly commercially...
Not everyone has a choice when it comes to travel for work or they have a sick loved one on the other side of the country. Follow the federal law and wear a mask while your on the plane, preferably a n95 mask.
I’ve flown recently and there always seems to be at least one jackass who removes their mask, daring someone to say something to them.
We had a woman and her daughter removed from our flight this summer because they wouldn’t put their masks on after they boarded the flight.
It makes no sense you put on a mask to enter the airport, wear it to go through security, sit in the gate area with it on, waiting to board then get on the flight where you remove your mask and tell the flight crew you won’t put it back on. Flight left 10 minutes late due to them being confrontational until police showed up and escorted the Mom and daughter off the plane.
And no, Mom was not worthy of photos being posted. Stupid fat troll doing a fine job of teaching her daughter how not to act. Everyone on the plane in the back applauded their removal as they took the walk of shame to the front of the plane to de-board.

You make a lot of sense based on your understanding of reality. However, what if you had been lead to believe that the mask isn't just an ineffective piece of cloth, rather it's a symbol and tool of oppression. It's technique used by communists to control people and limit their individual freedoms.
It's totalitarian rule.
If that's how you understood the world, then simply refusing to wear the mask is pretty reasonable civil disobedience and one of the more patriotic things you can do.
It’s a private business that has rules they set in place. If you want to follow their rules to do business with them then do so.
If not, no one is forcing you to do business with them and their draconian rules according to you. I’m just trying to get from point A to point B in first or business class to enjoy my life where I don’t have to wear a mask most of the time. It doesn’t kill me to wear one while on a plane so I don’t throw a fit because of it. You do you and I’ll do me.

Something clearly wrong with this woman. The anger she shows towards him, while her mask is off, is obviously projection rather than fear for her health if she were to acquire COVID.
Well, no. Airlines are required to require masks under a Biden E.O. Trains and busses, too.
He certainly was not taking a bite or a swallow of water. He was absolutely in violation of the federal mask policy.

The whole mask while on the airplane is stupid because the only thing it accomplishes is pissing people off

Delta had a policy of making 2 year olds mask which I thought was pretty ridiculous.

Cornwall, according to the affidavit, was trying to return to her seat from the restroom when she asked a flight attendant with a beverage cart that was blocking the aisle for help finding her seat.
The flight attendant asked Cornwall to find a vacant seat until the beverage service was complete.
“What am I, Rosa Parks?” Cornwall snapped back, according to the court docs, garnering the attention of the victim.
The man, who felt Cornwall’s comments were out of line, told her that she “isn’t black … this isn’t Alabama and this isn’t a bus,” according to the affidavit.

The flights I've been on, that's how it's worked. The flight crew made the announcement a couple of times, and people just did it. A bit of a pain, but of the entire experience of flying commercial this was one of the least annoying.
