The end of the year would be perfect timing. Fran did a serviceable job. Pmac graduates. We have a solid Freshman class here. T Devries could come play in the big ten for a season and would fit in well with this group.

Coached under Altman for a long time. He has won at Drake, which is hard to do. If we don’t land him, someone else will soon. In my opinion, he would be a great fit. His teams also play up tempo, and there is definitely more emphasis on defense.
Wanting to move on from Fran isn't exactly knee jerk.
Multiple 1st round draft picks and best we can do is getting beat down in the second round of the NCAA. We've seen the CEILING for Fran.
Plus I'm sick of watching ZERO emphasis on defense and rebounding. No excuses for having a team get consistently OUT WORKED.

I have thought this will be Fran's last year for awhile. His kids are done at UI, his youngest is going elsewhere, and I just get the vibe he isn't that happy with how he and his family have been treated in Iowa City. My kids are in HS in the area and they say Jack takes a ton of sh1t on social media. My guess is he wants to start over somewhere else.

5 straight 20-win seasons (will be 6 this year) at a historically bad program like Drake is extremely impressive. I’m a Drake fan too and I think the Iowa job is the only reason he’s passed on other opportunities. He’s certainly had them. I would hate to lose him at Drake but IMO, Iowa needs to push their chips in on him if Fran decides to step away.

I'm not a knee jerk guy. I've been tired of his scheme vs roster building for years. His scheme does not fit with the guys he recruits.
Devries would take his Jimmy and Joe's and make it a closer game. That I am sure of. And I'm not even sure he would be the best candidate for the job.

Fran is done after this season. I’m 99% confident he’s done.
I have been lobbying for Devries on here for at least 3 years. However, the timing seems better than ever after this season.

it was the top rated conference last year by every metric and it wasn't debatable.
