Playoff idea--good or bad? Not that it really matters :)

This popped into my head reading another post.

Why not require all power 5 teams(and any other team that wants to have a shot at cfp) to play a non conference power 5 team in the final 2-3 weeks? It's no playoff...but seems like a good way to gauge which conferences are best towards the end of the year and get a better grasp of REAL SOS. Doesn't add any extra games to the already increasing schedules and still leaves room for 2-3 non conference games before conference play starts.

Good idea? Idiotic? Dreaming?

Interesting idea. It would be fun to watch, but there's probably some scheduling issues involved since a lot of rivalry games are played towards the end. But a few weeks before the end of the season might be possible. It would sure be more interesting than most of the early season non conference games. Might as well replace one of those with something like your idea.
