Yeah...that makes sense. The South is willing to go to war when the institution of slavery is threatened but they would be perfectly willing to sell their slaves to the North.

Just out of curiosity, who's gonna be picking that cotton?
And therein lies the rub.

Even though Kosovo was a NATO participation, involving mostly B2 Sortes, how do you not support the remediation of ethnic cleansing?

Because it has nothing to do with us. Are we responsible for going all over the world and preventing injustice wherever we see it?

This is NOT about Jeb Bush. It's about which of our wars/conflicts you would have taken America into if you had been president at that time.

Note: When in doubt, the choice offered refers to the current or most recent conflict.

So how do you square "if you were POTUS at the time" vs. "knowing what we know now"?

The results are fairly interesting. It isn't surprising that the Gulf War (the first Iraq war) is the top choice. That was the "good" Iraq war. Or that Afghanistan does pretty well - 9/11 was staged from there and AQ was strong there, after all.

For my money, though, it's ISIS or none of the above. To me ISIS is the only "enemy" that is both pretty darn evil AND a non-trivial threat. We didn't really "need" to attack any of those other folks. Some believe the humanitarian grounds were sufficient in the Kosovo mess, and maybe that's true. Certainly there were atrocities and stopping them was a good cause, but the conduct of that war makes us look less like the good guys than I usually like when we are riding to the rescue.
