Possible fallout from Fran's firing for women's program

I’m most worried about our rev share split and NIL if they are really going to use additional resources to invest in the men’s team. We need to be able to compete nationally with the top teams otherwise we will not be able to land the caliber of players we want to land. Also, we need to continue having a great fanbase that fills the arena.

Some POSSIBLE fallout from Fran McCaffery's firing could be a strained relationship between Caitlin Clark and the athletic department. Fran is obviously the father of Connor who has been dating Caitlin for several years now. Also, everyone who really knows Fran speaks VERY highly of him, so it's safe to assume that Caitlin and Fran are close. Obviously the womens program, and more specifically Coach Jensen, had nothing to do with Fran's departure, so that relationship is safe. But I can't help but think that the relationship with between Beth G/athletic dept and Caitlin is a little awkward at the moment.

Also, with Fran leaving, Owen Freeman is in the portal and likely gone. Owen and Taylor McCabe have been dating for more than a year now. Owen is probably hoping to enter the NBA draft after one more year at a school like Michigan (or where ever he ends up), might Owen and Taylor be a package deal? Taylor has 1 year left, has several NIL deals and is a civil engineering major, which would be a tough major to transfer to another school.

Caitlin is far more mature than that, and the evidence is everywhere. CC isn't some catty &**%*. She knows how things work. Coaches get fired. Players get traded. Players leave as free agents. Money is money. Plenty of other things to worry about than this.

Seriously gang, when did the Iowa "Fan" base turn into Nebraska style fans?

Caitlin is very close to the entire McCaffery family. She took Connor's sister to the first round of the BigTen tourney to watch the Iowa women, and then both Connor and Patrick went with Caitlin to the OSU game. Fran and Margaret went to several of Caitlin's games her senior year and Margaret went with their daughter to many others without Fran. They chatted with the Clarks before many of those games. If you think Caitlin was not upset by Fran getting fired, you are crazy.

Is Connor pissed? yes

I am assuming that loyalty extends more to Iowa more than Fran
