Proposal: Make post-game press conference mandatory for the refs

Why? The refs didn't impact the outcome of the game. They missed a few calls but it isn't their fault Iowa lost.

were you at the game? if you were watching on TV it isn't always as easily noticeable.

the crew called one penalty on NU in the first half. a blatant false start that they could not Not call. that's it.

3rd Q NU defender tackles our guy no PI.

Iowa defender runs into wR on under thrown ball. (same contact, different circumstances) they call PI.

3rd Q blatant facemask on NU, no call.

next series Iowa facemask, 4 flags rain down.

blatant thrown game by officiating crew. they owe the fans a refund.

It was bad again but no effing way u blaim refs for this. our defense outside of King is atrocious and can't use the language I want to to describe offensive line.

Holding can be called on every play, so I don't buy the holding calls.

The inconsistency of the calls today is what is frustrating. They call one a penalty and the other one no penalty. It sucks but these guys are human. Until they allow "review" of all penalties/non penalties crap like this is going to happen.

What I am more upset about is why our offense sucks and our LT can't block a fly. My god CJB had no time to throw, is our line play that poor? KF was supposed to be a OLINE genius, but this year he is not. He has to find a combo that works and I would suggest moving Croston to left bench.

This! It is sad that our fanbases biggest concern today is the officiating rather than the play on the field.

Of course, there is always scope to be pissed at the on-field performance but there's no way any team on earth can win a game against moderate to slightly-inferior opponents with refs like this. We aren't talking a game against North Texas state, this is still Northwestern and we are still Iowa (i.e. not OSU). The only fans that can legitimately suggest that blatant and repeated mis-officiating should be overcome against anybody are from superpowers like Alabama.

We won't win another game against anyone if they play on the field doesn't improve. I couldn't care less about the officaiting, it is out of the teams control.

Dude, we are not a great team, that is visible, but they would be 5-0 even with their crappy level of play if the games were called fairly. One can rail on the team's performance while acknowledging officiating crimes.

Those missed penalties did not come on TD plays. Yes they would of extended drives, but whose to say we would of scored?? Our offense is so jeykle/hyde that I doubt we score on any of those.

Sounds all fine and dandy, but this wouldn't be very effective anyway. You've heard of coach-speak, this here would be ref-speak. You'd either have refs saying they don't recall the specific play or flag since there's so many plays in a game. I highly doubt you'll ever hear a ref say at a press conference that they made a mistake.

Acknowledging them & using them as causation for our losses are two entirely different things Dude. We wouldn't be 5-0 if the games were called differently. Don't kid yourself.

visiting team conference crew called 1 penalty on NDSU. when they leveled CJ when he was out of bounds.

no holding, no false starts, no interefence.

what that means is that NDSU played a perfect game on both sides of the ball the entire game. that shit does not happen. ever.

279 yds total Offense. 254 total Return yds. Our offense is a total joke regardless of the officiating crew.

Worry about things you can control. My parents taught me that when I was 8 years old.

Our coaches suck. That's why we are losing. Come to terms with it.

I agree that this Iowa team is not good and, frankly, didn't deserve to win today, even considering the horrible officiating.

Funny, though -- watching UM-WI, and MI gets a 1st down gift-wrapped for them with a "roughing the snapper" call that was dubious at best, after shanking a punt. The contrast between that hugely favorable call and the screw job the Hawks got today just struck me as pretty hilarious.

The refs absolutely affected the outcome of the game. We aren't a good team so a few bad calls are too much to over come when the two teams are about the same talent level.

Spoken like a true loser, not like the champion your screen name implies.

The refs affected the game...along with our horrendous play. If you don't think refs affect games, talk to Oklahoma St.

Please don't get me wrong. My point is that a few different calls don't make us a good team. You can't polish a turd.

Okie state deserved to lose. Just stop miracle play. Rule is dumb, not as intended, and will be changed but point taken.

They may have deserved to lose for being bone headed but the refs still affected the game and acknowledged afterwards.
