Proposed bill would ban minors from attending drag shows in Iowa

If the normal drag shows start taking a stand against the child grooming shows, people will see them in much better light. Unfortunately, you won’t see that happen for lots of reasons.
You’ve now compared drag shows to strip clubs, bdsm and I guess they’re child grooming.

Did I miss where they’re being marketed for kids? Again, go after the parents who take their kids to these shows, rather than the performers who can’t control that. This is like banning porn movies because the parent watched it with their kid.

When it says family friendly, yes, it’s being marketed towards kids.

Well, hell that settles it. Two controlled experiences accompanied by adults but ignoring the scores of criminal pedo assaults while conveniently masquerading amongst the cover of tolerance. Adult men sexualizing public library story hours for 7 year olds is grooming to normalize their sexual fetishes. Many including children. Do you brave the worst parts of urban areas at midnight with your children to prove lifestyle tolerance also?!?
But thats not what the proposed law is geared toward and you know that

No. I agree that children shouldn't be allowed to attend.

The several questions posed to you within the last 15 minutes or so that you've avoided.
We’re actually on the same page, regardless of how pissed you’re getting. 🤣

I feel like I’ve answered all your questions. Ask again if I missed something. I’m trying to respond to about 10 different angry posters.

They are almost always promoted as family friendly.

So if Jim actually believes in what he's saying and that it is a moral and just thing to protect children from drag shows, why is he spamming a bunch of drag show videos that include children?

Really a dumb question.😵‍💫

What I am against is deliberate sexual content efforts by adults in front of children. You cannot deny that’s happened in these shows, and in my mind, one time is too many. If these drag shows want to be taken seriously, they need to crack down on that stuff too, or their reputation is well deserved and you can understand why people have issues with them. You can agree to that, right?
What about movies, musicals, TV shows that have sexual content? Felony charges or maybe leave it up to parents to decide for themselves. If my son watches the super bowl halftime show and see dancers dancing suggestively am I a felon?

Everyone just sit back in awe at the comedy Jim provides for us. When he’s not being a whiny little bitch & crying to the mods, he blesses us with so much unintentional comedy.
You guys know it’s wrong but defend it just like your comments above. Trying to impugn someone for educating those who try to make light of drag shows. The other way that tells us you know it’s wrong is by deflecting using church leaders abominations on children. I think we know what evil is!

Good on you, sticking up for Pedo Jim. I’ll remember this in your future posts.

Whatever it’s called, it’s more substantial than anything you’ve presented.

Do you think there are some drag shows that are inappropriate for children?
Yes probably. Never say never ,never say always. The arguments in this thread are about how ridiculous it is to propose a law like this. And a felony at that! As Kimmy says, parents know what's best for their children... Oh wait !

I think I have been pretty consistent and honest in my position. I do not think drag events are inherently wrong even if people under the age of 18 are allowed.

I have a much bigger issue with people trying to legislate morality, especially when it's clearly targeting people's freedom of expression.

I imagine that you'll be tempted here to make this into a sexual abuse situation, so I'll do my best to get out in front and say as plainly as possible that I do not condone sexual abuse of anyone(especially those that cannot legally or otherwise give consent).

Yeesh…like pulling teeth to get you to admit it. If it’s happening, making a law to prevent minors from attending is no different than making a law preventing minors from a strip club.

So I ask again. Are you fine with minors at a strip club?

That was in the first video I showed which you probably conveniently ignored.
So because it’s in one, it’s in all?

I think most have pretty consistently said there are versions of drag shows that are not child appropriate. But that’s not all of them by a long shot. And this bill in the original post would ban minors from ALL drag shows. If not properly defined, that could include a very wide variety of of shows and performances that shouldn’t be included in what you’re defining as a drag show.
