A national tour of Purdue fans whining about referees. Not a good look.Sorry we lost a football game where the refs wrongly took possessions from Purdue (literally) and gave points to nu. Couple bad turnovers late. Purdue is fine. Still could make a case Purdue is #1, but if #3 is back down to earth, neat!
I'm not whining about some bad calls here and there. I'm complaining about truly aggregious calls.A national tour of Purdue fans whining about referees. Not a good look.

1. A tentional for "not going for the ball" when the ball was touched
2. A shot clock violation where the shot clock never went below 6 (how do they know they need to get a shot up when they have 22 seconds showing? )
3. An opposing coach standing on the floor and grabbing a Purdue player during a live ball.
These are horrible. Collins should honestly be suspended. And the big ten didn't even acknowledge a coach grabbing a player. I say all that to say turnovers late cost that game for Purdue.
Edey is dominant.I could see them losing in sweet 16, but I think there’s enough there to say 9/10 times this team would make an elite 8 appearance. The point of them missing components to win a title is valid. Probably won’t be a common pick to win it all.
But it’s not like painter has never had guards go on to the nba. Did everyone forget about Ivey?
But they’re at least average in back court with the best player in college at 5. Expectations is elite 8. A few people wanting to make hot takes will lose their bracket if they pick them to lose in the second round.
Smith and loyer consistently get to the rim. Both will be all big ten freshman.Edey is dominant.
But do you really think their backcourt is "at least average?" Maybe for D1, but which B1G teams have a lesser backcourt? Minnesota for sure, maybe Illinois, maybe Michigan, maybe Ohio State. That's about it.
Smith and Loyer don't defend especially well (especially in the pick and roll), turn it over a lot, and cannot get to the rim.
In the tournament inexperienced, subpar guard play, especially at the point, is not a good sign at all.
So which B1G backcourts do you think are worse than Purdue's when considering both offense and the defensive end? I'd go with Minny and OSU for sure, and I guess Michigan..Smith and loyer consistently get to the rim. Both will be all big ten freshman.
Hard to say. Haven't watched every big ten team. Considering Purdues success, it is hard to say Purdue has a bad back court. Someone has to get the ball to edey and score the other 70% of Purdue's points average. Edey helps Purdue a lot, but I'd venture to get every team would take a step back if they lost their best player. So which B1G backcourts do you think are worse than Purdue's when considering both offense and the defensive end? I’m not impressed with Iowa basketball.. you won’t get past the first game of the big ten tournament against a shitty teamWelcome back to earth boiler buddies,... I'll stick with my original perceptions.
Ok, and...I’m not impressed with Iowa basketball.. you won’t get past the first game of the big ten tournament against a shitty team
Looks like you guys came back to reality?Ok, and...

I feel fine about our future. We are about to put terrible big ten officiating behind us. Iowa will be long gone by the sweet 16.But that doesn't really improve your team's future, now does it...
I've never not been in reality. What you expected from Iowa, I couldn't care less about, but by all means, continue whatever this is. Regardless, what I expected from Iowa men's basketball was probably far lower than what you were expecting truth be told. So, I'm not sure what point you're trying to make.Looks like you guys came back to reality?
Oops my bad. You did exactly what I expected.
I’m not impressed.. BUT the good news is I never thought I would be impressed

Just admit when you play a good team man. I constantly sing the praises of ferentz’s football teamsAnd?
Is there a point coming sometime soon or are you trying to bore everyone to death?
I didn't say Purdue wasn't good just that you're weak at guard and will probably get bounced early because of it and I've seen nothing since I made this post to change my mind.Just admit when you play a good team man. I constantly sing the praises of ferentz’s football teams
We will revisitI didn't say Purdue wasn't good just that you're weak at guard and will probably get bounced early because of it and I've seen nothing since I made this post to change my mind.
It has absolutely nothing to do with Iowa one way or the other.
If this hurts your feelings I don't care, you don't have to be here, its an Iowa board.
Only if I'm wrong. We will revisit
Purdue is alright. I don't think they have any chance whatsoever of winning the natty this year though. Feels like a second round loss type of team but can see them maybe getting as high as an Elite 8 appearance, which is still obviously good. Didn't doubt for a second that they would be a contender in the B1G tourney. I have to add the caveat that the B1G isn't good this year. Sorry, it has to be said. Tallest midget and all that jazz.We will revisit
ThisSorry but I agree sweet 16 is probably your ceiling.
And that’s with a no.1 seed. Anything past that is gravy for this Purdue team.
Oh I will…Only if I'm wrong.
If I'm right there's no way you'll come back.
Why? What do you think will happen to Purdue when they leave a conference that allows 75% basketball 25% rugby. Did you watch them in Portland or do you not know shit?Purdue is alright. Your fellow fans haven’t watched Purdue outside of the big ten. While Purdue has lost with more talented teams, I think some of you guys are underestimating this team a bit. They will be big favorites in their first 2 games. Nobody has anyone like Edey. Who’s great this year? Kansas has injuries and a coach who might not coach. UCLA has injuries. Purdue starting guards were 5-9 from 3 yesterday. And Edey was unstoppable. I would not at all be surprised to see them make the elite 8, possibly the Final 4.

That doesn’t matter. Look at Purdue’s non conference resume. Very impressive. Duke, though you could argue they’re a way better team now, Marquette, a 2-3 seed, Gonzaga, a 4 seed. And as of this morning Lunardi has them on the 1 line. They’re legit. Of course they have a history of not holding up their seeding but every year is different. Just think they’re being discounted on here for some reason in a year that’s wide open.Psst...secret...did you know the B1G isn't very good this year.
Did you watch purdue against teams currently ranked 6th, 9th and 21st who are not members of the big ten this year? Can you tell me how those games were officiated? Do you know what you think you know?Psst...secret...did you know the B1G isn't very good this year.
Ok. What about the wins vs zaga, Duke, and Marquette? West Virginia is a tourney team as well.Psst...secret...did you know the B1G isn't very good this year.
Same thing that usually happens to big ten teams with average guards that are built around post players.Oh I will…
But let me ask you. Exactly what do you, a fan of a team that’s going mother f-ing nowhere fast.. think is going to happen when Purdue gets away from the big ten?
