So how did Stanzi beat out Christensen in 08?

There was allot more noise back then different staff and not nearly ingrained into the Iowa athletics. Would be my guess. In every other position what happens if the turn the ball over?

If you want stats as a crutch, Stanzi did not regress. But if you want to evaluate him as a playmaker (which is a better evaluation method for a QB), then KF's restrictions caused him to regress.

That's 100% it! KF restrictions regress qbs from year to year. He's the constant denominator.

For me the problem with Kirk is that his philosophy on qb play is illogical and fhe biggest hinderance.
With the championship level defense iowa has had in recent years a qb with 28tds and 20 picks would produce far more success than a qb with 16td’s and 4 picks. He’s far too risk averse and I think that’s pounded into qb’s and that will F with your head and how you play and decision making and the speed at which you do so.
