Question For FL Posters - the Adelsons/FSU Professor Murder

Wendi has hired an attorney who specializes in the type of immunity that she was given when she testified.

In this video this morning, Tim J explains why it will be difficult to convict Wendi and have it upheld on appeal

Remind me again, did his parents eventually get access to spend time with the kids? As I recalled, the SOTE family went out of the way to prevent them ever seeing them ever right after his murder.

It’s hard to believe all this was coordinated without some sort of awareness and agreement on her part…

I think they have seen them a few times, briefly. Someone commented on one of the videos last week that the Wendi and Donna have indoctrinated the kids into believing that the grandparents are the bad guys. Those poor kids are going to be a mess.

I mean at some point they’ll be adults and realize that half of Wendi’s family is in prison for the murder.

Not that they needed any more evidence against the mother in law, nor is it a surprise, but they were recording the calls between Donna and Charlie during his trial which ended last week. She said they were setting up a trust for the two kids and that she was going to off herself (quoting the lawyer on the video who says he is reading from court documents) and flee to a country with no extradition. They bought tickets to Vietnam the day after Charlie was convicted.

People really are dumb. It’s a jail. They monitor and record everything. If you need privacy for a valid reason, like attorney-client privilege, there’re completely different protocols.

Tim Jansen and Dave Aronberg talked about this yesterday on STS. Prosecutors spend many hours listening to jail house recordings because prisoners can’t help but give them valuable content. Jansen said it is common for him to call a prosecutor to discuss a case and the prosecutor saying he/she can’t because they are listening to recordings all afternoon.

While it is great they have some of the family in jail/prison, Wendi is the person who started this and needs to be in prison. There is no possible way Mark was murdered without her help and blessing

Yep. Or at least have some consequences on shared child custody with Dan’s parents at a minimum.

Charlie called Donna 86 times the week before her arrest

Donna Adelson Claims Jail is Abusing Her -- Lawyer LIVE (Dan Markel Murder)

The mother in law claims she is being mistreated at the Leon County Jail

I may need to buy this man a beer.

“When Donna made her concerns known, the official told Donna that Donna ‘is a fancy white lady who murdered her son and now thinks she has rights.’ The official joked with other guards about this outside of Donna’s door. The official then said that Donna will ‘learn that fancy white lady murderers have no rights here’ and told Donna, ‘Do you see where you are and do you see where I am? I am out here because I am not a murderer.’

No jail is going to deny a senior citizen a prescribed medication. That’s just for starters.
Of course she’s going to say all sorts of stuff. I’m not surprised at all. Horrible woman.
Yeah, I wouldn’t believe a word she says. Finally getting a little of what she deserves.

STS episode from yesterday with Dan Markel’s lawyer Steven Webster who was handling post divorce proceedings and his law partner Louis Jean Baptiste who was a student of Dan Markel at FSU.

First 30 minutes is them talking about their experiences with Dan Markel. Discussion about the filing regarding jail abuses starts at 32:00. They both think this is a lot of nonsense.

At 1:12:00 the former student, Baptiste, who does a lot of defense work, thinks Donna’s lawyer is laying the groundwork for claiming she is not competent to stand trial.

Baptiste thinks a lot of the alleged issues that have been raised could easily been solved if she had a local lawyer and not a Miami lawyer. He said he can call the chief deputy who oversees the jail and get most of this addressed. He also said the Leon County sheriff runs a good jail compared to other counties where he has done work.
