YTTV advocate here. I, too, waited far too long and wish I'd done it sooner than January 2019. I actually did YTTV and Hulu Live concurrently for 2 months (used them every-other-day) while I tested them both out to see which one I liked more. I use ROKU on 2 televisions and the YTTV XBox app on my 3rd with an aftermarket remote specific to XBox to make it more of a TV experience. I personally found YTTV meets my needs best. Hulu Live is a great tool as well and actually has more overall channels. They charge you extra for having more than 2 devices streaming at the same time, and charge you extra for expanded DVR storage. By the time I added the extras, Hulu was quite a bit more than YTTV and I didn't find those extra channels only Hulu offered to be worth that difference. You may.
Also - I prefer the YTTV interface. Some people prefer the Hulu interface.
The great thing: they are monthly subscriptions. Cancel one and use the other for a month, then switch back, and then switch again whenever you want. You can make the best choice for you without the high commitments and with no switching costs.
The 2 negatives: 1) You are completely at the mercy of your internet service provider. 2) It does not take a genius to see the prices for these streaming television services to gradually increase until they reach the same level as cable at some point in the future. Enjoy it while you can and may the competitive landscape stay competitive to keep those prices down.
