This is the first game all year I've really been upset that we lost, which has NEVER happened this deep in a season before. All our other losses were against quality teams where, sure, a loss hurt, but it wasn't like we were blown out or lost to a below average team. I realize the team seems to be struggling a bit right now to find their way, but all teams go through a little of that at some point in the season. Before this loss, many talking heads have said Iowa, yes Iowa, has THE BEST resume in the country. Yes, this is a bad loss, but it's our FIRST bad loss. Almost everyone has one. At least it was on the road. The week off couldn't come at a better time. Still a tough 4 game stretch to wrap up the schedule, so a good time to reset mentally and get some much needed rest. Fran will have them ready for the finish!

Agree with everything you said. This loss sucks but the hawks have gone from being the hunters to being the hunted. Did any of us ever think that another teams fans would rush the court (all 85 of them) after beating Iowa this year?
Everyone, I think, agrees that a bad loss is hardly the end of the world. But the upsetting thing is....we didn't play well against Minnie or against Indie or against the Twerps. This is the 4 th umimpressive outing in a row. And that is the worst part.
This game may serve a purpose. Uthoff and Woody played like crap and we lost, but our second half defense finally geared back up to where it had been. We'd lost intensity and I think we'd lost focus. I think this game, with these seniors, gets us back on track. 4 in a row and the worst we do is share the Big title.
Hope your right. Even Iowa playing at or near their best this would be a tough 4 game stretch. If they play like they have the last 4 games they'll have major trouble to win those games. I feel good that a week off will help this team as they look really tired. The energy level just doesn't seem to be the same as it was in Jan. These kids play their hearts out so I'm thinking it's just a fatigue thing, both mental and physical, and expect the energy to be back when they play the Badgers.
Our fans have little respect for other teams. Penn St and Minn can play with anyone. Iowa played a good game tonight and the attitudes on this board are a little too dramatic for the situation. All of the leagues are playing the same way right now.

Iowa did not play a good game last night. To many sloppy turnovers, to many defensive breakdowns, to many missed FTs, etc. They looked like they had good effort but they didn't play well. The team looks tired, a step slow on both ends, which is resulting in confusion as where guys should be on the court. A week off should help.
