I posted somewhere a couple of years ago that Matt and Derek were used up and wouldn't win in '13 and '14 and was run off that blog as well. I had season tics K5 1-4 for 15 years then gave them up when we continued to recruit good wrestlers not tough wrestlers. Just look at Tomasello, moisey, brewer, heil and MARTINEZ, jordans or synder. These are tough guys that don't know they are suppose to lose to Iowa. I just want to get back to '97 championship, except this time Mena takes neutral(as coach told him) and wins the thing, we end up with 174.
You noticed Matt McDonough was "used up", but couldn't see his obvious injury from the get go his Senior year? Ok.

I don't think anyone that has seen him recently would consider him "used up" either, but that might just be me........

Strange post with simplistic insight:

We should get "tough wrestlers" not "good wrestlers".

For demonstration of that point we should get the guys who finished at the NCAA tourney as follows:

1. Tomasello
2. Moisey

1. Brewer

1. IMart

2. Snyder

Brilliant I say.

You got ran off because you are a f****** idiot. DSJ, McD, and Evans are 3 of the toughest Iowa wrestlers of the last decade.

I think dhm may be Green Wave........

Swell pal, Gable beat me 6-2, how'd you do?

Because everything Gable did/does is interesting, I note that he had three 6-2 matches in his career.

His very first victory, as a Sophomore at West Waterloo High, was a 6-2 victory over Denny Severson of New Hampton.

Later in his Sophomore year at West Waterloo, he beat Mike Reams of Charles City, 6-2 in the finals of the Sectional tournament. He had two other victories over Reams in his Sophomore year, including in the State Finals.

The final 6-2 win of Gable's career was in the finals of the Midlands in 1967 over Dale Anderson of Michigan State. Anderson, of course, is a Waterloo West grad and a two-time NCAA champ at MSU.

A complete list of Gable's victories is located at:
