Be pretty crazy to have a chance to roll around daily with the best light weight in the country right now, after saying he’s your favorite of all time, and then go somewhere else. What more could you ask for.
Regardless of whether he's a hawk or not I'll root for him. I'll never forget how cool he was when my son asked for a pic and gave him a letter.
Does Spencer actually wrestle with the college kids??? I thought Drakes mom said he isn’t in the room with them much.
He’s going to pick PSU, the wrestling world will love it, and the sport at the collegiate level will continue a slow death.

I think that bodes well for Iowa.
Certain people (person) are likely embarrassed after Friday and that probably doubled the amount said people (person) were willing to pay.
Would make a nice diversion from the blowout as well. That's extra motivation.
JMO. I don't think PSU would feel want to match an over the top number. Would screw with the current lineup. There are 10 guys at least that would deserve more.

the other part of this is that Iowa was in Pennsylvannia with a day off Saturday. I'm sure they made a little house call
tOSU was reported to have made that offer to Blaze. Just you and a bunch of clueless guys positing that PSU offered that.
Nobody reporting that PSU guaranteed that because it didn't happen.
It's fairly clear what PSU does because there are multiple guys who wrestle there that have publicly stated what the deal is but you guys with an axe to grind or who don't really understand many of the elite guys mentality just ignore it.
How they get their guys may not make sense to you, but I'm sure it didn't make sense to Iowa opponents under Gable either. But they've put themselves in the position to get elite guys to come at under market and bet on themselves to earn it. And sorry to post this on your board, but no, Iowa, is not in that position now. How many guys has Iowa put atop the podium in the last 10 years?? That's what these guys want. Only one team is offering that now. PSU is putting multiples every year and sometimes 4 or 5.
Not everyone will do that but an awful lot of top guys will despite what you think. Some guys are also smart enough to realize that a few hundred thousand is relatively insignificant compared to the opportunity to maximize your career potential which can result in millions.
Of course, if you can cash the millions now, you do it. But it's not sustainable to pay everybody millions.
BTW, the number being bandied about is $5 million. Probably bullsh$t, but you could see it being $2M as an over the top number.
That would be good job by you guys because you've got to do something and just grabbing portal guys isn't going to do it. But you've still got to get back to doing the other thing, which is putting lots of guys on the top of the podium, not just one, because you can't pay 10 guys $2 million at the same time.

He committed to wrestle, Okie St. didn’t offer him in football.
This bodes well for Iowa too — heard Mocco was down to Iowa, Okie State and Ohio State. Now that Okie State is out, it’s down to 2. Helps that his dad wrestled at Iowa and loves the Brands and his mom is from Iowa.
That stings. Getting one of Iowa’s top hs prospects out of their own backyard.
The perfect class for us regardless of weights would be:
Raneys for 33 and 41, Bassett for 49 and Mocco for Heavyweight. Throw in Jax Forrest as well in hopes Bassett can grow into 57.

I don't think he plays football. It's bad letting him get away. Who the heck knows what we get out of Kueter moving forward. Ross's athletic ability for an upper weight is next level, a lot more fluid than Kueter. We are sitting with possibly 1 half time heavyweight now and OSU takes the only current legit D1 stud out of our own state.

He’s not helping anyone in the short term so the half time HWT thing isn’t really any issue. He’s still just a junior in HS.
If Iowa gets Michael Mocco it’s not a big deal. If they don’t, look out.
Don’t be surprised if Mocco lands well east of Iowa.
