Is it really that much of a stretch to think he could end up a TE? It might be in his best interest to be a TE if he wants to move on to the NFL. Brecht came in to play two sports so for baseball he probably didn't want to grow to the size of a TE. Had he just played FB, maybe things would be different.

Agree. RV (should be his nickname) will end up as a TE or DL, either will get him to the next level.

Will be interesting if Reece gives them enough juice to go beyond the 4 game rule, kinda like Nestor last year. Probably depends on the other X receivers like Buie/Howard/etc. No guarantees so if a guy can help don't be tied to the 4 game rule IMO.

Vander Zee was awesome. He should be an amazing upgrade at the WR spot. With his height and jumping ability, just send him deep and throw him the ball. He'll catch it, just like he did in the end zone today. What a find he is.

Those are the most surest hands and that was one of the best first games I’ve seen from an Iowa true freshman possibly ever. He’s definitely has a bright future if he keeps this rolling.

VZ, Gill, Brown, Andersen, Washington, Jr, KJ, JP, then add in the tightends with Lachey and Ostrega that can line up four or five wide. Wanna see more of this with tempo.

I think Vander Zee should start the next 3 games and if he does well, burn his redshirt and keep playing him. His combination of height, hands, and speed is an area of immediate need for us. He's 5 inches taller than Seth and 7 inches taller than Kaleb. He and Cade had some chemistry plays out there today, and the way he plucked the ball out of the air with strength reminded me of McNutt. I also think Wetjen should be given a shot at WR because of his YAC potential in space that we can all clearly see on kick returns.
