scored 37 in last 2, average = 17.5/Gm = uh, what...Averaged 37 pts? Uh, what?

Jobo currently shooting 27% from 3....
how many of you think that is representative of what he’ll be shooting moving forward?
if not, what do you think he will shoot moving forward?
well, Jobo has hit 9 of 14 3FGA and averaged 37 points in last 2 games over ranked team....
land 3 FG% is now at 35%
Anyone bet he’ll end up closer to 40% than 27%?
A career ~40% will progress back to their mean, given a statistical significant opportunity.Yep it just took shooting 3s with a rec coach at the local Y

working with a coach at the Rec, removing his shooting sleeve, or putting on his shoes in a different order, regardless, after 4 years of shooting data, we know where he’s going to end up, ~ 40%
Hard to quantify ‘other players’, what was the total # of players? or is this more of an anecdotal comparison?
easier to say that JoBo is rapidly moving closer to his career norms and what we expected he’d be at...
I might be more inclined to attribute to knocking off the rust of not playing at this speed for an entire year...
to me that makes it anecdotal and speculative...or, might be true, might not be trueI cannot list every hip injury in the history of the sport for you
This thread continues to age well LOLanother post that aged well.🤣🤣when the games get bigger JBO raises his game.
you seriously just love when he has an off night don't you? Love that you can run back to this thread and try and prove what an awesome prognosticator you are....We all saw what happened last night. He had a bad game, it happens to the best of them. You sure have forgotten all the good things Bohannon has done for this program. SadDespite "catching fire" for a few weeks and boosting his shooting percentages, he is yet to "regress to the mean." We are more than halfway through the season and he's shooting:
39% from the field (10th on the team)
37% from 3 (6th on the team)
The guy loses focus, which is normal among 22 yr old kids. We just have to hope he hit's a hot streak when the games count and saves his 0-8 shooting nights for January.
It's likely that one of the reasons Jbo came back was because Fran asked him to when CJ left. Fran probably believes that he is doing the right thing by showing the loyalty that Jbo showed him.Ya hate to see it, but Bohannan's decision to come back for yet another season at Iowa probably wasn't in the best interests of the team. It's been yet another year where his lack of effort/athleticism on defense and his poor shooting stroke do not match up with his arrogance on the court.
After shooting a blistering 2-10 from 3 in a two point loss to Rutgers and 1-5 against Maryland this week, it's clear that he's taking away opportunity from younger kids who have paid their dues and deserve to play.
The "Big 10's all-time 3 point leader's" 2022 stats include: 12th on the team in field goal percentage at 37%, 5th in 3 point percentage at 35%, last in steals at .6, last in rebounds at 1.1. Despite his poor play, he's SECOND on the team in minutes played. How does that work?
Coach Fran needs to do the right thing and only play JBo in certain rare situations while allowing the younger guys to develop.
Fran needs to adjust his thinking on the fly. It's likely that one of the reasons Jbo came back was because Fran asked him to when CJ left. Fran probably believes that he is doing the right thing by showing the loyalty that Jbo showed him.
That will never happen with FM. Look at last year when we played a MASH unit in the NCAA's.Fran needs to adjust his thinking on the fly.
His job is to win games and JBo isn't helping him on either end of the court.
He learned from the bestCan't get elevation on his shot...Depends are weighing him down.
Not really hoping it happens after this long...That will never happen with FM. Look at last year when we played a MASH unit in the NCAA's.
He had two hip surgeries. That's the problem. When you are a short shooting guard, you have to make up for it with quickness. He no longer has that. He can't get open and can't defend.I assume he's been thoroughly evaluated/examined after his head injury last summer but I wonder if he suffered any impairment that might affect his vision, reflexes, or hand-eye coordination. Small margin of error between a make and a miss. Even his FTs have been off a bit lately.
I agree with the above, but FM should not be playing him that many minutes to the detriment of the team. JMOHe had two hip surgeries. That's the problem. When you are a short shooting guard, you have to make up for it with quickness. He no longer has that. He can't get open and can't defend.

Jordan had both hips operated on, my dude.Connor had the hip surgeries. Not Jordan.
Right. Is it 3 or 4 hips between them?Jordan had both hips operated on, my dude.
35 minutesJust when we thought his shot couldn't possibly get any worse, Fran plays Bohannan for nearly the entire double overtime game against Penn State. The most games played in Big 10 history and also the worst game played in Big 10 history.
33 mins, 0-7 shooting, 0 rebounds, 0 steals. The guy he was guarding scored most of the points in the overtime periods. But perhaps the most telling point of the regression of Bohannan's shot was when he took the final shot in regulation, down 2, as time expires and...airrrrr balllll. WTF happened to the guy? Five years ago he was clutch. Now, he's beyond a liability.
It's time for Bohannan to sit out and give someone else (Sandfort played just 11 mins and had 5 pts and a rebound, Perkins played just 17 mins and had 4 pts, 2 rebounds, and 1 steal).
Fran has eyes. He saw what we saw. What is his explanation for playing Bohannan 33 mins in a close game where every possession counts?
