He just tweeted from the hospital he is doing fine.
I hope Dr. Paul recovers well. Despite what the MAGAs on here believe, I voted for him even though I don't agree with him on everything
He’s infinitely more principled than his son.
As the Republican Party burns, I feel bad for holding his few inconsistencies against him.
Ron was never a Republican. Always a Libertarian, which attracted me to him. He is a man of principle, not politics.

He ran as a Republican, and he drifted from the Libertarian thing on some social issues. I haven’t listened to him in years, but I would be shocked if he was okay with the spending going on in the Trump Administration.
I know he ran as a GOP but his heart was always libertarian.

I met him twice, in person, in a candid sort of setting. he was the most humble, genuine, empathetic politician ever. I campaigned for him HARD in 2007/8 and in 2012. The "Ron Paul Revolution" of 2007/8 was amazing. I liked him because of his non-interventionist foreign policy. His ideas for returning the country where it has none of the programs that, in his opinion, weren't allowed by the constitution, was antiquated and archaic. But, his position on monetary policy is also worth paying attention to because, at the rate we're going, money/currency is always losing its spending power.
He was an awesome person to listen to in those personal settings. What I remember most was "waiting for change through the political process is incredibly slow, almost nonexistent." Politicians pander. He wasn't pandering.
He's 85 years old. I hope he's okay. But, he won't be around much longer, I wouldn't think. What was cool is we both talked about bike-riding to stay fit. He was till doing it 12 years ago, daily. I am the same way!
The 2008 campaign was just FUN! It was organic and spontaneous and lots of people rallying together for a message of peace!

I don't wish Ron Paul ill, but I will not loose any sleep if Rand Paul were to have some difficulties.
I caucused for Ron Paul when I was 18. Got up in front of a room full of adults with mortgages and lectured about inflation lol. Only slightly embarrassing looking back.
Got my picture taken with him before the 2007 Western Michigan game. His handlers made me put the 40 I was drinking down before I could meet him, though.
You're either a party member or you're not, it's a voluntary process. There isn't a static prerequisite core of beliefs to being Republican or Democrat, just a signature.

I "disagree with" today's Republican party the way I disagree with Tim McVey or Mohamed Atta. The party has been losing its marbles since the Clintons permanently triggered them in the early 90's but now they're dangerous. Watch Donald Trump encourage violence as the election approaches and following it when he disputes the results. I don't have the time or patience to reason with or hear absolute scumbags out. And that's what Trump's Republican party and its supporters are. It's not a secret that they're anti-Americans bent on destroying America as its been since the guilded age ended.
