Rudock starts for michigan

Rough night for JR but I still think he will have a good season. Utah is one of the better defenses that Michigan will see all year and they couldn't run the ball. JR's numbers will look better next week and it looks like Harbaugh is confident in him.
They couldn't run the ball because Utah loaded the box once they realized Rudock couldn't throw. Just like last year

The thing about Michigan is, Shane Morris hasn't exactly looked even average when he has played so I think Rudock plays the whole season unless it completely goes south. Michigan has a solid defense and so they will win probably 7 games maybe 8 if lucky but until they get better on offense they won't be rising in the East.

Don't know about the RB, but Jake chose to go to Michigan. He was going to leave Iowa no matter what and Michigan came calling as a result.

But yeah, UM's o-line hasn't been good for some time now. Doesn't look like they improved/upgraded much in the off-season either.
We'll see how Iowa's OL fares in their first contest compared to Michigan's, even though there's a difference in the opponents each will have faced.

I really don't think there's an enormous difference between Utah & Illinois State. In the 2014 year end Sagarin ratings Utah finished #24 and ISU finished #41 but I don't know how much of that carries over to this season, but they both seem to be competent football teams IMO.

I know that, though like you said, that's last year's results. Not to mention, I would say Utah's defense is at least slightly better than what Illinois State returns this year........then again maybe they'll prove me wrong and Iowa won't do jack sh** tomorrow because of how awesome their D is. (though when it comes to Iowa moving the ball, that's not always the issue...................o_O)

The most ironic thing about this (correct) observation coming from this board is that not only has Michigan's OL been, at best, mediocre ... but they've been that way, even though they've recruited EXTREMELY WELL at the OL (if you "believe" recruiting ratings).

Iowa fans have been complaining about Iowa's recruiting on the OL a lot recently ... and yet Iowa continues to develop and field quality offensive linemen, in spite of their supposed lack of success recruiting O-linemen.

The INT wasn't his fault. Awful route by the receiver. Jake threw it where he was supposed to.

But yes, it's Captain Checkdown so far for the most part.
What, who thought Harbaugh would start w a wide open game plan? Disappointed in Jake but the biggest disappointment was the inability to hit the wide open receivers going deep. If he had made them the other bad plays wouldn't have happened. Question, noticed all the kos went way deep or though the ex, is it the elevation. Know things carry farther in hights, see Colo Rockies and hrs. If so it might have had something to do w his missing by 2 steps on the lst two long passes. Just thinking

Utah would be the 4th or 5th best team in the Big 10. Just saying.
Yeah, I think Utah vs Wisconsin, Nebraska, Minnesota, even Penn State would be pretty good games to watch (at least if you're just a fan of CFB in general).

Utah is not a great team by any means, but they're not all that dissimilar to those others I mentioned.

I guess we'll see how Wisconsin fares against Alabama to get a better idea of just how good the perceived 3rd-best team in the Big Ten is gonna be. You could probably throw Nebraska and Utah's rival BYU in there too, as the Huskers are mostly pegged as the 4th best.
