I think I have everything at the house to make a chicken and andouille gumbo but if I'm going to the trouble of doing it, I'll need to head to the seafood market.

Got some cleaned blue crabs. I’m allergic to shrimp, so usually grill the shrimp and let people add it. We are cheating and having the kids over for gumbo on Sunday.

Our okra crop was doing pretty well until the deer found them. Still, we'll have enough to put in our gumbo this weekend.

There'll be gumbo in the thbb house for certain. My wife (no pic) is from down the bayou and grew up making gumbo with her Cajun mamere.

I had some excellent gumbo last Sunday for brunch. Just the right amount of heat and decent portion of shrimp, chicken and sausage.

The two hurricanes helped. Seems like a decent idea to do it again this weekend.

Gumbo is my favorite food on earth. If I go to New Orleans, I eat it with or for every lunch and dinner. For that matter, if it's on the menu anywhere else, I order it there too. Viva El Gumbo!
