SC denies Trump's petition to stop sentencing

Sounds like Trump needs to fire 2 SCOTUS justices on day 3 of his administration. Day 1 deport all the illegals. Day 2, tariffs and a tax cut. Day 3 fire the traitorous scum who stabbed him in the back.

Great news! The SC on a 5-4 decision just denied Trump's request to stop sentencing tomorrow. Although discharged from any punishment, the formal sentencing tomorrow will officially designate Trump as a convicted felon. Gotta' love it!
Well, until he wins on appeal that is.

Then I suppose youll agree to stop calling him a convicted felon. Or will you continue to do that and call the appeal politically motivated and tainted? I will guarantee now that this ruling gets overturned. 100%. Id bet anyone on here that is willing that if the appeal gets heard, he wins.

You worship a convicted felon and rapist. Congrats?

I don't worship any man. He wasn't convicted of rape and his 'felony' convictions are certain to be overturned. This trial was fraught with errors and will soon be proved as such. In fact, I'm glad he gets sentenced so he can appeal it.

You certainly can see that the way the crime in this case was turned into a felony was created from whole cloth? If you can't see that that decision or strategy is questionable you and I can't discuss this like men.

How dumb are you? Do you need a harness out in public with a bicycle helmet?

It is over. Read a book some day. I think my wife still has books that she gave away to 1st graders

You still haven't answered my question counselor.

Did you, or did you not, imply that Fran wasn't playing Thelwell against Nebraska because he was black? Instead of the real reason, he was injured. You have an aversion to facts it seems.

Next, I am recently convinced that you're a legal lightweight. There is zero chance that the Trump verdict isn't ultimately reversed on appeal if it is heard. Zero. I'll bet you an entire month of posting if you're willing. Frankly, I don't care if you are an attorney. Any attorney that thinks that the Merchan verdict and trial wasn't full, being fair, potentially of reversible error isn't being honest. But you're an attorney so no real surprise there. Not exactly a profession known for character or candor.

If his convictions are so sure to be overturned and his sentencing is such a good thing so that can happen, why has he fought tooth and nail to keep it from happening?

Gus… Trump will always be a “ convicted felon”…spin it however you must..the sad thing is he has a couple of more charges wgeee he is guilty of bailable offenses that he will never be adjudicated. Trump is a phuquin’ crook….and President of the United States… a Nixon on steroids.

Because if he isn't convicted he isn't a convicted felon.

I think his team is trying everything they can honestly. If I was his attorney I wouldnt cede any possible angle. Try them all. Just my guess.

Wouldn't you if this was your life, your reputation and your legal team? Explore all avenues?

This^. Gus living in a Time Warp or his head had way too many Keystoneights tonight. Appeal? Ain't no appeal left, the Supreme Court said no. Gus needs to go back to 8th grade civics 101.

Gus being very stupid right now. Friday will be a beautiful day when the judge sentences Trump to whatever minor sentence he gives him for being a convicted felon. X 34. Gus thinks he wasn't convicted, but I guess he forgot to watch the trial and listen to the judge and jury. And he forgot to see the appeals court decision, and the state appeals court decision, and the Supreme Court decision, all going against Bonespurs. Gus must be like living under a rock in nevada. Just keep repeating the phrase Gus, there's no place like home, there's no place like home, there's no place like home, and maybe you'll wake up.

What? Once he is convicted then he can appeal the verdict. That isn't what this SC ruling was. I don't think you understand this ruling nor did you read it evidently. It even mentioned his option to appeal in the ruling itself.

You should maybe pause your comments for now and allow others to educate you since I doubt you'll believe me.

Trump is a phuquin’ felon, Gus! Just admit it! He got by easy…the sumbitch needs to go on trial in Ga for election interference…there’s jail time for that one.
However, now when Trump negotiates with Putin and the other crooks, he can look them in the eye and say…I’m just like you! I’m a crook!

He's already been convicted dimwit, read the news, listen to the news, that's what the judge did after the trial... they convicted him of 34 felonies and he's going to be sentenced tomorrow. You're telling me he's going to be sentenced for something he wasn't convicted of? Again, how stupid are you? What do you think they were appealing? Conviction.

He was convicted months ago. He is a convicted felon. Only Trump has people lining up to shout from the rooftops he isn't convicted after a jury finds him guilty of a crime. I don't care at all about semantics on whether or not a particular state calls them a felon before or after sentencing. A guilty verdict means you are convicted.

Just for shits and giggles, here is what AI has to say on the matter:

Yes, a guilty verdict in New York State is considered a conviction before sentencing. The judge will sentence the defendant after a guilty verdict, whether the conviction came from a trial or a guilty plea.

Explanation
  • A guilty verdict means the defendant is convicted of a crime.

  • The judge will then sentence the defendant, which is the punishment for the crime.

  • The judge can consider many factors when determining the sentence, including the defendant's criminal history.

  • The judge can impose many types of sentences, including incarceration, probation, fines, community service, and more.

He hasn't appealed the verdict yet haus. He cannot until he's sentenced.

Today he was trying to prevent Merchan sentencing him for the conviction by the jury.

The "Merchan verdict" - what are you talking about? The jury rendered the verdict, not Merchan. And remember, the jury was approved by both the prosecution and Trump's defens team. How about just accepting the fact that your guy is officially a convicted felon. And what an everlasting legacy for Trump - the first convicted felon to serve as president!
