Schwarber might be one of the 3-4 best ball players I ever saw pass thru Des Moines on their way to the Bigs.
Greg Maddox and Joe Rudi were two really special ball players that were easily identified as future stars. Schwarber was really solid here in DSM.
That team Rudi was on here in DSM was really really great. All those future A’s stars and Vida Blue....Maddox was like 15-1 in the 2 seasons he was here...he had stuff that couldn’t be hit, and learned “the strike zone” in the minors...Schwarber could really hit the ball hard! And he was quite “fan friendly”....
