Why tf did he drive away when I’m guessing the cop told him to stop.A felony?! Oofta, seems excessive.
Why tf did the cop try to stop a moving vehicle?
Guessing he shouldn’t have been stopped but he was and thought he was above the law.

Assume the dragging of officer holding door handle for 10 yards or whatever. But if you’re Scottie you assume the tool would let go.Assault? Probably gently put his hand on the officers arm or shoulder.
Don’t see not respecting officer’s authority on there. Highest crime of all.
Good spot for your ‘why not both’ gifSomebody is going to end up with egg all over their face on this one once the body cam footage comes out. Dickhead entitled golfer or out of control meathead cop? Place your bets!
Maybe he didn’t know he was there? If the cop was grabbing any other door handle besides the driver’s, he might not have known. Why tf did he drive away when I’m guessing the cop told him to stop.

Thank you … funky bunch with a master class in how to start and manage a thread of an ongoing incident. Pro level. The ESPN+ Main feed is at the entrance waiting for him to arrive any time now
Well it could have been two sides. Scottie had witnessed every other player pass on by. Perhaps the cop didn’t realize the tournament players were allowed. And he decided it was Gandalf time. No more shall pass. And things just escalated from there.Somebody is going to end up with egg all over their face on this one once the body cam footage comes out. Hi I’m hydro2.0
This was my attempt to make the dumbest post possible.
He’s so privileged that he didn’t get shot because he was a golfer going to his golfing event.
Do some of you on here intentionally post stupid things or are you really that stupid?
Needs to arrive ala Ric Flair in a helicopter. Really make an entrance.Thank you … funky bunch with a master class in how to start and manage a thread of an ongoing incident. Pro level.
Yep——-I SEE A 65 in his future today.Even if he is released prior to his tee time, he will be so far out of his routine and mindset, he will be way off his game.
In addition to that it was dark and raining out with police lights flashing/glaring on windows. If he had the radio or music on there's also a chance he didn't hear any verbal commands to stop right away until they were yelling. Again, seems like a huge overreaction. Cop could have said didn't you hear me or why did you drive around and then listen to the response to see if it made sense. Hell, maybe give him a ticket, but immediately pulling him out of the car, pushing him up against it and yelling at him while you arrest him is a bad look. Then, to put all of those trumped up charges is laughable.Maybe he didn’t know he was there? If the cop was grabbing any other door handle besides the driver’s, he might not have known.
What others did is irrelevant. Did you witness everything that happened for this specific interaction? We’ll know the full story at some point. They had already allowed other players to go through. He, and other players, had already been permitted to go around the police on the other side of the accident. It's not like Scheffler was the first on the scene.
Why would you put accident in quotes. A person was hit and killed.

As stated, there was a separate accident close by, shouldn’t he be a bit more cautious and aware of his surroundings instead of blaring his radio and flying by police. In addition to that it was dark and raining out with police lights flashing/glaring on windows. So is like the OJ Verdict or 9/11. Everyone will remember where they were when witnessing this dark day in history. He's in the clubhouse!
I'm fully aware of this... if you cant see police overacted you have blinders on. Other golfers did the exact same thing as he did.As stated, there was a separate accident close by, shouldn’t he be a bit more cautious and aware of his surroundings instead of blaring his radio and flying by police.
Thinking the officer may have been a noob. And plain wasn’t aware. And decided someone needed to step up.I'm fully aware of this... if you cant see police overacted you have blinders on. Other golfers did the exact same thing as he did.
Probably, but you'd think a Sgt or Supervisor would have set things straight. To haul him in and and all of these BS charges just doubles down on stupid.Thinking the officer may have been a noob. And plain wasn’t aware. And decided someone needed to step up.
Meh, some nobodySomebody got hit by a bus and died but that's not a big part of the story
Yeah, nothing like piling on charges. Criminal mischief? Reckless driving? Really?
As the owner of a company who has had this type of response oh so many times to "you name it" situations...I LOL'ed pretty good on this comment. IYKYK.Right now there is a supervisor in the LPD that was hoping his Friday would go by without incident saying “God dammit Dave…”
Cops will do that. I remember a Milwaukee Bucks player was parking illegally at a drug store. Going in and out. It turned into a circus involving about 6 police officers eventually tasering him and roughing him up some. All on body cam mind you.Probably, but you'd think a Sgt or Supervisor would have set things straight. To haul him in and and all of these BS charges just doubles down on stupid.
I’m guessing DA ends up dropping charges or worst case scenario Scottie stays out of trouble for X amount of time and his record will be expunged.
Fify2nd Degree Assault on an officer ego
Yeah, I'm guessing the top 3 charges get dropped and he pleads guilty to the last misdemeanor
