*****Seattle 4 Regional Discussion: #1 Stanford LOSES to #8 Ole Miss, Opening Door for #2 IOWA (Next Game: Fri, 6:30 pm CT, ESPN)*****

I thought O'Grady played pretty well. Bluder wasn't afraid to play Stuelke and Affolter at the end of the year and in the big ten tournament. I expect we'll see more of both on Fri.

Bluder has a bench, she just refuses to use it which could be her Achilles heel. I understand that the starters are very experienced but they need to rest. Syd could have played more minutes yesterday and Wetering, Goodman and McCabe could have played spot minutes.

McKenna was struggling. Why not let Wettering or one of the other bigs come in and spell her at the 4 and try to run some high/low. Wettering is actually good at driving the ball. Why not give Taylor minutes as a spot up shooter because no one was even attempting to drive the ball and she could have played a perimeter game.

Bluder is her own worst enemy because she refuses to properly develop her bench. I like the starters but the young players are actually more athletic and better defensive players and deserve playing time.

Gabbie was balling and Cailtin is the goat so no problem with them playing close to 40 minutes. But Monica and McKenna struggled and we should have found a way to change things up. We we lucky as can be to pull out a W yesterday, mainly because we didn't play well and didn't take care of the ball. And you have to wonder if the bench could have changed the tone of the game had they been allowed to play. 2 bench players combining for 9 minutes is really pathetic on the part of the coaching staff.

I may be mistaken but it seemed since the game was on ABC there were extra media timeouts, If so that mitigates some of the concerns in regard to starters getting extended minutes.

Stanford had just 20 points at half time. They were 2-7 (29%) from 3 and 17-52 (33%) overall for just 49 points.

Ole Miss was outscored by Stanford 14-12 in the 4th quarter. Crazy low scoring game.
I'd love to see a shot chart for Stanford. The amount of missed shots in the lane was an insane amount. And quite of them by their 2 best players. Some good D but a lot of them was just them plain missing easy makeable baskets they usually convert especially by Brink the tall blond.

I agree with pretty much all of your comments.

In ESPN’s analysis about the Stanford game, Charlie Creme said:

Iowa has exactly the opposite thing happening. The players who are not named Clark or Czinano are stepping it up for tournament time.
Well we have seen them completely disappear too- so fingers crossed

They may have gotten a little extra rest but the starters were not playing particularly well. Too many turnovers and just a general lack of game flow. Bluder has been hesistant to use her bench most of her time at Iowa. We need the bench to play every game and get the experience they need. Bluder is overreliant on the starters.

Yeah after watching the game last night, idk if we would want Ole Miss in the elite 8 after that win and their South Carolina OT game.

Can't say I've watched any Texas or Louisville games though, curious if anyone has and has an opinion on which team of the 3 is our best match up?

#8 Ole Miss vs

#4 Texas or #5 Louisville (Mon March 20, 6pm, ESPN)
Watched the ISU v TX game a week or so ago. Seemed TX was the better team, but gott rattled and ISU won.

Other than the chalk, what makes you believe Iowa is any better than any of these remaining teams in the Tournament?
Texas is loaded, as apparently is Mississippi...Duke, Colorado and Louisville, too,,,,,,,,Remember, Louisville beat Drake....who lost in the last seconds to Iowa earlier this year. You can throw a blanket over these teams. Not much difference.
Do you really think this is the same Iowa team that barely beat Drake? Sure didn't look like it the last month, and Stuelke hadn't really become a factor at that point. I know that Clark looked human for the first three quarters, but when the game was on the line in the 4th, she put her cape on, and went to work. Keep the faith bro....

It surely is. This is the same team that got beat by 39 by Maryland a couple of weeks ago. You think MSU beating Stanford was a fluke? Guarantee you Miss St has players… just like Georgia. There ain’t a lick of difference in these teams now…any one can win. One game does not determine the best team necessarily.

Thats fine that you think that. Clark is on a mission. I don't think their losing short of playing them Cocks. We'll see......

Miami is indeed getting totally hosed by the officials. No way that last call was a charge - more like a flop.

Sweet!!! IN goes down.

The cute blonde #14 for Miami with ice in her veins hits the two big free throws with a sweet dump down and make in the lane to win it. That was fun!

Indiana losing by 3, 12 seconds left.

This would be satisfying, and helpful to the Hawks chances down the road.
Indiana was on the other side of the bracket. We wouldn’t have played them unless we made the final.
