Second Language Apps?

i have a decent commute on my hands, and all my winter sports teams aren't going to be worth following on sports talk. thought it might be a good time to learn an new language on the drive.

anyone have experience with rosetta stone, babble, etc..? thoughts or input on:
- cost?
- functionality?
- ease of use when driving a car?
- success stories?
