The Senate and the House are important too. Right now, big donors are threatening to pull money from down ballot races if Biden stays in.
Why the F would they do that? You'd think the need to place a check on Trump would over ride everything...
If Biden is deciding for himself that he should drop out for health reasons, the answer is yes. If he's being forced out by the party elite, he should stay in. As Biden himself said, over 14 million people voted for him in the primary. To drop out simply because people say he can't win is cowardly.
The Dem voters that selected Biden were defrauded, and Joe should step aside,... Problem is that the party is all out of centrist candidates, which is what Joe was when his competition cashed it in front of last election's Super Tuesday, viewing him as the best chance to upset Trump,... 2024 Joe is not the centrist we were told he was, and there are no other Dem players in that arena.
NBC News said this morning that the party elite pressure was like all 4 walls closing in on him
If Joes steps down, it's gonna be Kamala vs Trump, right?
And Pete Buttigieg of Indiana could be her running mate.
Perhaps, but I just don't see her carrying the ball without some vetting,.. Maybe a mini primary to shake out the top contender with Kamala being a participant in that exercise,... Best candidate goes forward.
At this point it's about a name that can get people out to vote. It seemed pretty ridiculous at first that a reality TV star could be president, then he won.
Except, he cannot perform, probably hasn't been performing, the job as it needs to be performed

It's about keeping that orange turd out with whomever can win. Imo, she's the best option to do that.
Again, once this country voted in a reality TV star, it showed being a great leader was kinda out the window; I'm not a big fan of it, but it is what it is at this point.

My money is on Shapiro. Moderate white man (not that race gender should matter but it does apparently) who pulls a major swing state. He’s a governor so no upsetting the senate apple cart.
If they lose, which they probably will with word salad Kamala at the head of the ticket, he won’t take the blame and he gets some national recognition in prep for 2028. If Kamala loses she is done on the national stage clearing the way for folks like Whitmer, Buttigieg, Shapiro and Newsome in 28.
