Here's hoping the kid has a great year for his South Dakota team. Always wanted him to be successful but he couldn't make it work at Iowa. To his credit he has never (as far as I know) said a negative word about the Hawkeye program. I think there is a chance he will really break out this year.

Agree with the OP. Wish him well, and I'm glad he found a landing spot that works for him. As fans, sometimes we take things too personal ... or we make it too personal ... when talking about the teams we support. Players who are 18-22 years old ... Players who have a heck of a lot more talent than I ever had (I peaked in the 8th grade) ... :(

Dickerson is now in a much more comfortable place for him I think. USD head coach Craig Smith was a former top assistant to Tim MIles at Nebraska and was lead recruiter for Trey. It came down to Iowa vs. Nebraska. Iowa won the recruiting battle but Smith and Dickerson seemed to have formed a very close relationship.

In addition, when Smith left NE to take the South Dakota job two years ago, he hired Eric Peterson who was Trey's head coach at JUCO Williston State. I think the combination of HC Smith and Asst. Peterson at South Dakota made it the perfect place for him to get back on his feet.

BTW, the Coyotes recently completed a 4 game summer tour of Spain. Dickerson apparently played well and led the team in scoring a couple of games.
