Very "confident" fan base if you read Bisonville"....

They, like Wisconsin and then Michigan state have copied the Iowa formula of power football and pro style offense and bend don't break hard nosed play.

Hell, they even stole "in heaven there is no beer" that alone is worth a beat down.

Overall, it's worked out well for them but this will be the first ranked team they have played and the highest profile stage they have ever been on.

I think they hang around for a while but Iowa pulls away.

35-17

I think we beat them by 3 TD's. Theit 2 games against FCS teams have been close. Also 4 or there 5 straight wins against FBS schools were not good teams. Only the KSU win is noteworthy and they ended up just above average.

I'll be watching the trenches. Most of the time, not always, you get a clue of the outcome after the second or third drive.

TEs vs. NDSU LBs - Iowa should exploit that.

Their MLB is outstanding when healthy. He dislocated his shoulder in the opener but played this week and had a pick 6 I believe

Should be the best test of the non-con. But, based on their struggles so far (took OT to beat fellow 1AA teams), and our success (in cruise control basically after 1Q both games) we should win.

Their power run game will be important to watch as a barometer for us in-conference. I'm not sure the questions about our run defense have been answered. NDSU has the scheme and attitude to pose a risk.

At this point, thinking something around 27-14.

Looks like they have a decent QB, but not much of a run defense. Iowa should be able to run on them.

One thing that jumps out at me this season ... we are a very physical football team. I know that's always been part of our identity. This year, however, we've stepped it up a notch and have some mighty big boys on the field. Daniels at RB; Jewell; Nelson twins, our OLine; King, etc. I just have good vibes about this Iowa team. The leaders we have on the field. The talent we have on the field.

I expect us to pound the ball ... and pound it some more. I absolutely expect us to score in the 35-45 point range ... I could see NDSU scoring in the 13-20 range ...

Well here we go. NDSU's MLB Deluca will be a top round NFL pick. Dude is a complete stud, cant believe Nebraska only offerred him a walk on. QB turned down Big 10 Rutgers and King Frazier the RB is a Nebraska transfer. NDSU has Talent, heck 10 guys on nfl rosters shows that as well at #2 pick Carson Wentz.

But here's the real reason that NDSU will beat Iowa.
Defensive Line along with Deluca is crazy good, Tanguay, Menard, Ambrosius all are Big Ten talent.
NDSU's O LIne has 6 7 300 guys and they move the trenches well.

NDSU 28 IOWA 24

ps- expect 10,000-15,000 fans at the game for NDSU.

Oh lake, you are off to a great start. I'm sure this is going to get fun.

They beat Charleston Southern and Eastern Washington.... in overtime.... at home.

No Carson Wentz. They may have a few Big Ten guys but our whole team is Big Ten guys. My prediction just went up.. Iowa 49, NDSU 10. Not a chance in hell.. not against this Iowa team.

NDSU is very good, but the difference between FCS and FBS is the talent gap. NDSU 1st string is very good, but after that I wonder. They have struggled in their first 2 games this year??? I I don't know much about Charleston or EWU? But the old NDSU would of beaten those teams by 25+.

I think Iowa will be able to spread them out and take advantage of the mis-matches on the outside. Also I think Iowa's power Run game will wear down NDSU dline. Last year we heard how GREAT Ill states team was, and we handled them. I look for something the same. You know KF will not run up the score. Once Iowa is up by 17-20 he stop.

Iowa 45
NDSU 17

I predict a close Iowa win. If you look at common opponents over the years, there is no reason not to expect a close game. Any predictions for a victory more than 10 points is pretty optimistic. I wouldn't get too excited by a victory over a very bad Cyclones team.

Last time NDSU played the clones they dominated them by 20 in a year Iowa lost to them. NDSU has also consistently beaten UNI who has given Iowa struggles recently.

Expect the best test of the season yet. I would expect NDSU to be better than a handful of the B1G teams on the schedule for this year.

Ill state just beat NW. I think this will be Iowa best non-cont opponent this year, but Iowa has not struggled with UNI. The last 2 times they played the games were close, but outside of that Iowa has dominated UNI.

Iowa is a different team then in the past. They are more physical and Iowa has 2 of the better RB's in the Big Ten and also 1 of the best Corners. NDSU will have to run on a defense that is very physical. I know NDSU had a kid from Waterloo West who is a solid runner, but he will have to find holes and I don't think there will be any. Iowa's defense is pretty stout and I think that is the difference in the game Saturday.

I think it will be close, but Iowa's ability to run the ball will wear NDSU down (very similar to Ill state last year).

This is going to be great, show Iowa some real NFL talent. Bison 38 Iowa 14. Bison dominate in the trenches mark my word.

Got to love morons, no way in hockey sticks does that Bison team come close to 38 points, heck you guys are bad as dumb clown fans.

Iowa 45

Bison 20

what'll you'll find out is... I have a groupie following unfortunately of deranged individuals from over the years from different fanbases that will see me start posting somewhere so they will go register a "Bison Name" aka Bison Beast and say more outlandish things than me to make us look stupid.

HEY PRICK, WE CAN MAKE OURSELVES LOOK STUPID ENOUGH OK?? BEAT IT!

Stick was 8-0 as a starter last season when Wentz was hurt. I think we even visited Iowa. How can you forget a name like Easton Stick?

I'm really not sure that I can see place where we (NDSU) will be able to beat you hands down. Maybe coaching? There are certain times in the last 4 years where I think that we were the better team I don't think this year/time is it. I hope I'm proven wrong but that is just my honest assessment. If we can shut down the pass game we might have a pretty good shot but that might be the big difference if there is one. If so, it might just be a battle to the end that is dependent on special teams, penalties, and mistakes. I think we have the talent to make it a close game if we play well. If we play like we've played our first two games Iowa is going to win and it will not even be close. Too much sloppy play. Hopefully we at least get the easy things like penalties cleaned up.

On their board, sounds like NDSU has been tinkering with a 3-3-5 defense.

If they stick with that, we'll have 250+ yards rushing.

I think it will be a pretty competitive game. They beat two of the top FCS teams this year. I know Eastern Washington did be Washington St.

I expect Iowa to win, but I think this will be our toughest opponent to date and probably the best team we play until Minnesota.

I appreciate the Monday morning chuckle. I needed a pick-me-up. Hmmm, NDSU needed OT to beat Charleston Southern at home. And a week later gave up 44 points to Eastern Washington in yet another OT win. And the rationalization that NDSU will hold Iowa to 24 points? Uh, sure. Yeah, makes sense ... This is good stuff. Iowa will score 35-42 points ... NDSU won't get to 20.

lakesbison and bison beast are as wrong in their prediction and assessment of the HAWKEYES as our ancestors were in calling the North American bison "Buffalo". You guys must have smoked to many of them there bison chips when you were young.
HAWKEYE run game will wear the bison D down, while running over, through and past them. Mix in CJ and his stable of receivers and TE's and they will pick your secondary apart. Your offence might move the ball early with a dink and doink here and there but after the IOWA D lays on a few big hits, GAME OVER. Hell your bison team may even question what they were even doing signing up for this A$$ WHOOPING.

HAWKEYES - 58

bison chips - 20

TEs vs. NDSU LBs - Iowa should exploit that.

Both teams are strong in the trenches ... so I agree that it will be fascinating to watch the match-ups in the trenches play themselves out.

Kittle was dinged in camp ... so I'm not sure that he's yet the mismatch against LBs that he usually is. Furthermore, FCS LBs are often very good, particularly on the elite FCS squads ... so I wouldn't sell them short. If Iowa had 2 proven TEs ... then I might expect that the TE vs LB match-up to be more of a thing. However, I see Iowa's passing game to the RBs as being a better mismatch.

Also, I expect that NDSU will have to "spend" a safety in run support ... and thus that will lead to more pressure on the production of our WRs in the passing game to lead to a bigger advantage for our O.

As for Iowa's D against NDSU ... I'd look for the key match-ups will be for the Bison to test Iowa's DE against the run AND to see about isolating Bower on the RB. Bower has been solid ... but they have a talented enough running back that they could exploit him in the running game.

Iowa's DEs have been concerned enough about generating a pass-rush ... that the edge still has been a little vulnerable. Given that Stick has some mobility ... I think that well-timed use of QB mobility could exploit the Hawks too.

A honest question is what area do they think they are better than Iowa at? Best player NDSU has is LB same spot as Jewell and they are delusional if they think their qb is better than 2nd team big 10 qb who will get drafted next year. I get it their qb was 8-0 last year well CJ started off 13-0 in his career but against better teams. Some can point to how they killed a 2 win ISU 2 years ago in Ames. Thing is all the upper classman from that game aren't playing anymore including their qb they had in that game.

Iowa 34
NDSU 17
