Being a UNI grad and watching NDSU in person they are a cool story. I have respect for their program. They have re-loaded and to win 5 straight is something pretty amazing in this day in age. I will say this, this years team doesn't look as good as the teams in the past. They have made their living off of the "first game" of the year upset. They now have 2 games in which could help them, but I think it also helps their opponent as well.
Kleimann even stated in his presser, "this is the most complete team we have faced" now I realize he is only in his 2nd year, so he hasn't been around long. But he will have some kids with a chip on their shoulders (dunn from Waterloo) and Klieman is an Iowa guy. So I think it will be a competitive game similar to Ill State last year, but Iowa is just too dominate in this one. I think Iowa will win by 17-20pts.

Coach Klieman is from Cedar Falls Iowa.... He & the Team has been game planning for this since January 9th. (we played longer than iowa last year!) He wants to beat IOWA bad.. SOOOO we've just had vanilla plays and messed around with different defenses.. you'll get the NDSU Tampa 2 and alot of power run football and play action passes.

Sorry, but comparing performances from previous seasons is a meaningless discussion. Two years ago we were 7-6. This is NOT the Iowa team of two years ago. You expect NDSU "to be better than a handful of the Big 10 teams on the schedule this year."
The difference between playing with the big boys is you play big boy competition every weekend. If NDSU played a Big 10 schedule, it would struggle ... mightily. The pounding teams take at the Power 5 level each and every week wears teams down. A team like NDSU would struggle if it has to face Big 10 teams each and every week. Sure, maybe it can get up and excited for one big game per year against a Power 5, but doing it every week is a whole different story. This will NOT be a close Iowa win. Iowa will win convincingly. I think some of you Bison fans aren't really realistic about the team you are playing Saturday in Iowa City.

I am absolutely thrilled to finally attend a game at beautiful Kinnick stadium. Prediction: the team the scores the most points wins

That game was not competitive at all.
DeLuca does look the part, but Tanguay appears to be quite a reach as far as being a "Big 10 player". He may be by the time is done at NDSU, but he is a redshirt sophomore that was only honorable mention all MVFC last year with 5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks in 15 games last year. And 6 tackles, 1.0 tackles for loss, and 0.5 sacks through two games this year.
Right now Tanguay would probably be the 4th DT on Iowa's roster behind Jaleel, Bazata, and Faith.

I put the o/u at 6k and take the under. I don't think ISU had more than 5k in the stadium on Saturday, and you are calling for double or triple that.
I'm willing to bet most of the fan base thinks they are playing Iowa State this Saturday.
You guys can't be serious here can you? If there is one thing teams will not do to Iowa is win in the trenches. We were out arguably our 2 best offensive lineman last week and easily racked up 200 yards rushing on about 7 yards per carry. Iowa has probably at least 3 NFL offensive lineman and a first 3 round DT in Johnosn, one of the best MLB in the entire country in Jewel, arguably the best 1-2 combo at RB in the Big Ten, the best corner in the entire country, an NFL TE, a WR who is averaging 7 catches a game and 100+ yards, oh yeah and one of the top QB's in the entire country.......I respect NDSU for what they are and I am sure they are a good team, but I am assuming we will not be hearing or seeing any of you around after Saturday afternoon.

The average margin of victory in the last 3 matchups is less than a touchdown. Maybe not struggles, but they have been competitive games. Not like Iowa has been destroying UNI by 20 like many posters are predicting they will do to NDSU.
I refuse to join that forum for that reason. Just stating, there are a plethora of educated football fans from NDSU. We grasp the reality that we are in the FCS, we know we do not face the competition that the FBS does. However, we do have a lot of talent in the FCS so do not make the mistake of sleeping on NDSU. It will require some help from the football gods, but I'm being as optimistic as I can that this will be a competitive game and will come down to the wire. I will not share out loud if I truly believe that last sentence
Redshirt Junior by the way. Let me know what you think after the game. There scheme is such that none of their interior linemen are going to have big statistics. Keep O.L. occupied and off the linebackers. Very similar to Iowa linemen.

I think the key point is, unlike most of NDSU other opponents, Tanguay will not be significantly more talented than the DTs our OLine practice against everyday. His numbers from last year are very similar to Nathan Bazata's for Iowa.
And no where near as good as the DTs from Nebraska and Michigan State (to name two) from last year.
Predicting Bison Burgers Saturday. I have respect for their program but they do not look good so far and Iowa looks pretty damn good right now. Our offense should have a big day. Defense starting to get it together and we really have not shown much yet. Hawks by a bunch Saturday.

That same Kansas State team lost 17 starters, was the first game of the year, and was the only P5 team that ended the season with a winning record (I think it was 8-4) that NDSU has beat.
I think Iowa wins by 2 scores and it will be close in the first half, but they wear them down. I would be happy if I am wrong and it's by more than that.
