So the mighty Bisen are rolling in to town....predictions? Match ups?

The whole NDSU vs. FBS is kind of laughable:

vs. Iowa State (2014)... Clowns went 2-10
vs. KSU (2013)... Cats went 8-5. Respectable win.
vs. Colorado St. (2012)... 4-8
vs. Minnesota (2011)... 3-9
vs. Kansas (2010)... 3-9

This will EASILY be the best FBS team NDSU has ever played. Legit top 15 team w/ an All-Big QB, Thorpe winner at CB and loads of talent on both sides of the ball.

I respect the heck of the NDSU program and what they have done but it gets real on Saturday. Hawks 38 NDSU 13

Iowa would have to pull a serious no-show to lose this game. I'm talking a complete lack of respect and focus.

I just don't see that happening.

It will most likely be very similar to Ill State last year...they're physical enough to win, just not talented enough. Something like 37-20 Iowa.

Last time NDSU played the clones they dominated them by 20 in a year Iowa lost to them. NDSU has also consistently beaten UNI who has given Iowa struggles recently.

Expect the best test of the season yet. I would expect NDSU to be better than a handful of the B1G teams on the schedule for this year.

Can't compare results from the past when talking about the present Iowa team. No Iowa team under Kirk has had a quarterback like CJ when healthy. As long as he's upright, I'm confident Iowa will put as many points as necessary to win comfortably before Kirk calls the dogs off.
 
Sunday will be quite the experience on bisonville watching their fans calling for Kliemans head.

Imagine that bus ride back to Minot.
 
This game is going to be a major blowout. NDSU plays like Wisconsin or MSU. If we are built for anything it is to stop a power/play action team. Combine that with the fact we are a much faster, more physical team, and you get a 63-3 final score.
Dead serious on that score. Iowa can name it.

If Iowa is ready to play, this game will not be close. If Iowa looks past NDSU (They won't) it will be close. Iowa will win this by at least 2 touchdowns. I have a great deal of respect for what the Bison have done but they ain't gonna win in Kinnick.

They won't be able to run the ball..good luck to your QB..Snyder and the outlaw going to make him earn yards..hope your backup is ready to play

My belief is the matchup to watch is If the Iowa D line can dominate the Bison O line like they did ISU's. We have only blitzed a few times this year which should make it more effective when we do.

As far as the overall game goes, I'm fairly confident the hawks won't have trouble taking care of business at home.
 
I predict Iowa goes heavy run early to break the spirit of the wild hump cows. I have been a fan of NDSU for years until I discovered their fans. Very disappointing behavior. I thought they'd be as classy as their coach.

And the Hawks lost to Minny in 2011 and ISU in 2014.

Me thinks you have a distorted perception of the distribution of Hawk and Clone fans in central Iowa...he should be fine by just avoiding Ames.

I could slightly understand the comments on here bison "fans" if this game was being played 2-3 years go. But it's not, and we've never played a team like this and this is our shakiest start to a season in 5 years. As much as my heart says bison win, it's hard to let my brain believe it. Heart says 27-24 bison. Longtime college football brain says 41-24 Iowa. Good luck on Saturday p, looking forward to seeing how our physicality matches up!

The one problem we've seen with Iowa though is in an instance where they aren't looking past their opponent, but in doing so they also come out way too tight and conservative and every little mistake is some huge lost opportunity that they won't get back.

We've seen Iowa plays tight with teams they've respected too and it's cost them.


If they execute their game plan and don't put NDSU on some unnecessary pedestal, then they'll be fine.

Defensive Line along with Deluca is crazy good, Tanguay, Menard, Ambrosius all are Big Ten talent.
NDSU's O LIne has 6 7 300 guys and they move the trenches well.

Would you like your crow served roasted or fried??? It's ok to fantasize-but this one gets ugly early. The Iowa players have heard for 6 months how big bad NDSU will be competitive. Iowa has the second team in by the end of the third. Iowa 49 Bison 16.

I really do wish that this game would be played against one of our more experienced/better teams. I think that our current team has the talent to beat Iowa, just not right now at this time. Iowa is very lucky to be coming into this game where they are at. The Hawks are an experienced well oiled team that is really at the peak of where they have been for many years. On the other hand, the Bison lost many of their best players last year and are not at their peak. Take last years late season championship Bison team vs last years Hawks and you'd have a pretty well matched game. I'd never look past NDSU but it is really going to take some improved play from what I saw at the last game for us to even keep this from being a blowout. I do not think you'll completely dominate the trenches like most Hawks fan on here seem to think but I do think that in general we will be outmatched as a whole. Hope I'm wrong. If there is one thing I have come to know about NDSU is that this team comes to lay it out there every game. They know how to win and win consistently. Even though I think we'll be outmatched, I'm going to go with an NDSU win prediction 27-20. If there is a way, the Bison will find it.
