Thanks for this and this thread. Seriously fantastic. If a mod could pin it to the top forever I’d really appreciate it.
The third best team in their conference (if you say so) put a beatdown on the B10's best team (Ohio State) ON THE ROAD! Take off the B10 blinders, please. That was an impressive win by Iowa State on the road. OU isn't the #3 team in the country any more, but they're still easily a top 15 team. Michigan dropped like a stone after losing to Iowa last year, too. In fact, they dropped their last two games of the year after losing to Iowa. So does that make Iowa's win over Michigan last year meaningless? Come on, step away from the Kool-Aid.

Whatever makes you feel good.well, don't we all post about other teams on this board? heck, when the Sandusky thing erupted, for example, weren't there Penn State threads?
the difference is that i am not going to a Cyclone board with this thread.
think about it.
You are equating Oklahoma to Nebraska. GameDo you think its a bid deal for anybody to win in Lincoln Nebraska? It used to be a big deal, but it's no longer. Nebraska is terrible.
Just like its not really a big deal to win in Norman, OK. It used to be a big deal, but it's no longer. Oklahoma is simply the 3rd best team in the worst Power 5 conference.
Trajectory is upward because they now get to play BIG teams the rest of the year. Your conference is so weak they can't possible lose another game. Remember, this weak Oklahoma team you speak of didn't just beat OSU, they owned them - at OSU! This post is too damn funny. The BIg 12 is desperate to have a final 4 caliber team; Oklahoma was supposed to be that team. Now they are on the ropes to lose their 2nd straight game, this time to an average at best Texas team.
The Big 12 is what we thought it was; the 5th best Power 5 conference at best.
Oklahoma, yes, won at Ohio State. But look at Ohio State now; their trajectory is upward. Oklahoma obviously won their Super Bowl in Columbus Ohio and now is that average team in America's worst Power 5 conference.
If they are the 3rd best team in the conference than the Big 12 must be pretty good since they are rated #12 in the nation. Someone is getting a little nervous as the Cyclones are getting better.Do you think its a bid deal for anybody to win in Lincoln Nebraska? It used to be a big deal, but it's no longer. what isn't really a big deal is blowing out ku by nearly 50 points. and this is a knock on ku not isu. somebody needs to go in there like the big fat guy did, and turn ku around one day

True or not...it was suggested that it was a mutual decision...kinda like when Iowa and KJ Sails/Mike Bruner parted ways. You'd better tell your recruits. Weird coming out of the all-time greatest win in program history that one of your better CB verbals de-committed.
Defense in the Big12 can be tough to find. T-Tech and Okie St in particular have for years resembled turnstiles on furniture dollies with matching ai settings. But that conference is prolly more advanced than any at using RPO’s and they are more than just a fad. OU ran a couple against tOSU that were simply brilliantly designed plays and gamechangers.and that's the point. what is very clear is that Oklahoma is a very average team in a bad conference. unfortunately i did not see the OSU/OU game but based on what OSU looks like right now and what OU looks like right now, I can't imagine how OU pulled that off. OU is struggling to beat mediocre teams like Baylor and Texas and IS-who is going crazy that they beat OU? Again, this is not a Barry Switzer Oklahoma.
Sorry, Clown fans. Your conference is terrible and you got a conference road win against an average Oklahoma team. That would be equivalent to Iowa beating Michigan State on the road, which we almost did. And guess what? We would not have planted an Iowa flag in the middle of Spartan stadium, either.
Iowa beating Nebraska in Lincoln is not a big deal.
IS-who beating Oklahoma is not a big deal, either, especially when you have 2 very average teams where one of them by default has to win.
Trajectory is upward because they now get to play BIG teams the rest of the year. Your conference is so weak they can't possible lose another game..
Except for half your season so far. Derp! UNI, Akron, & Kan weren't on here & that's with having the full CFB television package. You do realize that ISU (along with every P5 conference team) is on National TV every week don’t you?
ISU May have cost Oklahoma a shot at the playoffs so at least they are relevant now.
Don’t need to comment about the name calling of ISU’s fan base as I’m assuming you are like 10 years old.

Oklahoma would stomp Iowa there brainiacThe BIg 12 is desperate to have a final 4 caliber team; Oklahoma was supposed to be that team. Now they are on the ropes to lose their 2nd straight game, this time to an average at best Texas team.

The same Iowa that went into Ames & wrecked shop yet again?!Oklahoma would stomp Iowa there brainiac
Yes, I'm definitely calling you weird. I toned it down for public consumption. You are a Clown and you are posting on a Hawkeye board and you are calling me weird?
You are equating Oklahoma to Nebraska. Game
Winning in Norman is not a big deal? Set
OU is 3rd best team in the Worst power conference. Match
Thanks for playing. Maybe post a poll to see who agrees with you.
After watching Iowa State in a couple games this year, I think they are a solid team. And even Alabama has games in which they aren't all that impressive (see Texas A&M last week), so minimizing a huge road victory for ISU in Norman because OU had a tough game against rival Texas--a team trending up--is silly. And, it makes the Iowa fan saying as much sound little bro-ish.
Instate rivalry week is over. Time to move on.
When you learn to argue, please post again because you just lost this argument 6-0, 6-0 (going back to your tennis analogy). Until you learn how to construct an argument, please stay off the message boards. You will do us all a favor and you won't embarrass yourself like you did in your post above.
Thanks for playing. Better luck next time, but take your time in constructing your next post.
Good luck to you.
5thThat's probably fair. I think the B1G is better than the B12 and that's how the numbers roughly work. But I think ISU is actually pretty decent this year. Their game against TX is kind of like ours at MSU in that both teams probably would like a second crack at those opponents. You know, looking at ISU's schedule they probably lost to TCU and maybe one other team, but they're going 7-5 at worst I think. Well I guess 6-6 at worst.
If I want to know who the better team is, I don't know but at the end of the game, I will look at the scoreboard.Disagree. I know you think you are being clever with your tennis analogy, but you argue quite poorly.
Iowa is an average team and so is Iowa State. Iowa State could not beat Iowa in Lames, as expected.
If Oklahoma is such a great team TODAY, they should have easily beaten an average Iowa State team at home; IS-who was even less average that day because they had to play their 2nd and 3rd string QB's. OU just proved that by losing to ISwho, OU was simply an average team as well. So, sorry, beating Oklahoma, even at their place, is not a big deal any more, just like beating Nebraska in Lincoln is not a big deal any more. Iowa fans don't get all worked up and excited when we beat Nebby in Lincoln but IS-who fans do when they beat Oklahoma in Norman? Makes zero sense, but then again, IS-who is not used to winning and they must think that Barry Switzer is still their head coach. This is no longer the 1980's.
Sure, somehow OU beat OSU, but look at Ohio State now. They are rolling since the OU blip on their radar.
Look at Oklahoma now. They could not stop Baylor (their pass defense is horrible) and squeaked out a win vs a very average Texas.
A very average Iowa State team beat a very average Oklahoma team. Congrats for a win, but it was not as big a win as some people would like to think.

Here are the current Sagarin conference ratings.Oklahoma is maybe the #3 team IN THE WORST CONFERENCE IN THE COUNTRY.
I may not rank them in that order but as I've stated numerous times...I just don't see a big gap this year in any of the conferences. Parity seems alive and well. Here are the current Sagarin conference ratings.
Big 12.......78.670
ACC..........78.345
PAC-12.....78.100
Big Ten.....78.000
SEC..........77.670
That is very true. Not much difference in those numbers. Differences do start to show up when you post the numbers broken down by divisions, which is how Sagarin publishes them on their website. It's the conferences with the strongest divisions that also have the weakest divisions.I may not rank them in that order but as I've stated numerous times...I just don't see a big gap this year in any of the conferences. Parity seems alive and well.
Trolling.Oklahoma is maybe the #3 team IN THE WORST CONFERENCE IN THE COUNTRY.
Agree?
So, the Clowns simply beat the 3rd best team in their conference, which is the WORST CONFERENCE in the country.
Agree?
If not, I wonder about you.
This is why it's hard to EVER cheer for ISU. You guys win a couple games, and then you come over here and trash everything Iowa. It's f****** weird. I said to a friend after the Oklahoma game, prepare for ISU fans to say "our team is playing better than Iowa now", and sure enough, last week, there it was from ISU fans on this board. Iowa has won 4 of the last 5, 7 of the last 10. You guys are coming out of the cellar this year a bit, but my god, gain some perspective on your program a little bit.You just talk to be talking. Every ISU game but one has been on an ESPN or FOX channel. Enjoy when the basketball season starts and the Hawks are crying because they can't get most of their non conference games on TV. What I don't understand about the BTN alternate channels. I have two or three of them on diacom and they will be showing the same game on all of them.
Except for half your season so far. Derp! UNI, Akron, & Kan weren't on here & that's with having the full CFB television package.
