Sorry, Clowns, but your win at Oklahoma is not impressive after all

Apparently you care because you pointed out the score. It was a great game by two evenly matched teams.

Good for you. You finally have a team that us evenly matched with Iowa. Your coach will be gone soon and you will continue to ge pathetic. Hey, once every 10-15 years, you guys are even with us. Good job.

Oklahoma is maybe the #3 team IN THE WORST CONFERENCE IN THE COUNTRY

So, the Clowns simply beat the 3rd best team in their conference. Not impressive at all.
You're a weird dude. Thanks for starting another thread though. It had been a minute.

Must have been Maryland’s Super Bowl. At least that’s what you all say when a Big Ten team loses to team from a different conference. Might have something to do with being the first game under a new coaching staff.

As for the crowd at ISU today. Yes, it was disappointing. I know Iowa fans were bummed out not selling out a night game against Penn State too.

Not really. It was on national television after all. When was the last time clowns were on national tv? Ever???? Your program and team is so irrelevant that no one cares. I wonder what the ticket prices were today at isu as opposed to the Iowa game against psu? Actually, I don't care. Your program and your fan base sucks.

You do realize that ISU (along with every P5 conference team) is on National TV every week don’t you?

ISU May have cost Oklahoma a shot at the playoffs so at least they are relevant now.

Don’t need to comment about the name calling of ISU’s fan base as I’m assuming you are like 10 years old.

But to be honest, we are what, the 6th best team in our conference?

1. PSU
2. OSU
3. Wisky
4. MSU
5. Michigan
6 iowa
Prior to today's games, our resident computer rankings nerd had the Big10/Big12 Power Standings in the order shown below. He also includes our non-conference opponents. I believe he uses the Sagarin ratings to compile this data, but I know he also keeps tabs on Massey.

Actually we were damn lucky to beat ISU this year. Campbell has them on the right track.
I'm happy for them.

I guess you haven't checked the ISU/Iowa win/loss record since Ferentz has been your coach. Once in 10 years is 10% once in 15 times is even less. The actual truth is before Iowa's win this season the series was tied 9 to 9 which by my math is each team had won 50% of the games in the Ferentz era and for a few years Iowa was down.

You just talk to be talking. Every ISU game but one has been on an ESPN or FOX channel. Enjoy when the basketball season starts and the Hawks are crying because they can't get most of their non conference games on TV. What I don't understand about the BTN alternate channels. I have two or three of them on diacom and they will be showing the same game on all of them.

Look at you little clowns flicking around our board looking for validation. Seriously, you are and always will be irrelevant. Now run back to your little board with the other six fans isu has.

I haven't seen any of isu games on tv? Why? Cause you are irrelevant and I don't give a f.......

What is the all time record? Your pathetic little clownville is just that, pathetic. Again, why are you close wins over here? Do you have a board to share with the other 6 clown fans???

It’s interesting to me that you comment about the Big 12 being the worst of the 5 power conferences. Other than Kansas who is terrible and Baylor who is really down this year who else do you think is bad?

Iowa State is probably the 8th best team (out of 10) in the conference and it took an unbelievable performance by your QB to beat the Cyclones by 3 in overtime.

Oklahoma is as good as anyone in the country with the exception of Alabama and perhaps Georgia and TCU.

The Big 12 may or may not be the strongest at the top, but they have the least amount of bad teams at the bottom.

I have admitted that Iowa might be the 6th best team in the B1G. And Iowa State could not beat the B1G's 6th best team at their place. Maybe Iowa State could beat the 7th best team in the B1G?

Oklahoma is maybe the #3 team IN THE WORST CONFERENCE IN THE COUNTRY (I am not the only one saying this). So, the Clowns simply beat the 3rd best team in their conference, which is the WORST CONFERENCE in the country. Not all that impressive. The Clowns could not beat a middle of the pack B1G team and they think beating Oklahoma is a big deal? Well, that's like saying beating Nebraska is a big deal. It's not.

Keep in mind, too, that OU struggled big time vs a terrible Baylor team. OU does not play defense; shoot they could not stop ISU's 2nd and 3rd string QB's. What a joke. OU is overrated.

The Clowns simply beat the 3rd best team in their 10 team conference, which is the WORST CONFERENCE in the country. Good for them, but not as impressive as everyone wants to think.

Your list is different from the way the above teams were ranked in the AP last week, but some of them will change after this week. Just because Iowa squeaked by Iowa State in overtime doesn't necessarily project to them being ranked higher. ISU got votes in the AP last week and Iowa did not. Think it is to close to call at this point in the season.

The AP Top 25 teams last Monday are posted below like and includes teams that got votes right below the Top 25.

3. Penn State
6. TCU
7. Wisconsin
9. Ohio State
12.Oklahoma
15.Oklahoma State
17. Michigan
21. Michigan State
27. W. Virginia
33. Iowa State

That stadium (Trice) looked like high school stadium. That was horrid. Thankfully they beat a JV high school team. I thought the Texas look was bad. But holy smokes today was unreal. It was rain and 60 degrees. And it was desolate a week after the biggest win they ever had well beside their yearly Super Bowl. All my Ankeny neighbors took a pass. Sad.

By your argument, the 3rd best team in the worst conference beat (owned) the best team in your conference at their place, but that doesn't really count for anything because it was their super bowl? Really? Now Iowa fans using the super bowl excuse for an OU-OSU game? Hilarious. Did OSU come out flat too?

You say OU does not play defense, well, except against OSU? Baylor and ISU score on them but OSU can't, but that's because it was OU's super bowl? Gotcha!

ISU beating them is not that impressive, and neither is OU beating OSU. As many of your fellow Iowa fans have pointed out, you are a homer idiot.

What I'm gathering is that no ISU win will ever impress you, and no Big 12 team win over a Big 10 team really counts. Sound about right?

I suspect Franisdaman is the attention getting person who has been banned many times as 100.

If you got your moniker thinking you are representing Fran the coach he would not be proud of you.

Cyclone fans usually come out and support the football team no matter their record. Maybe they were like me and couldn't sit out in a cold rain as I about have pneumonia for doing so last week.

If it wasn't for Iowa and uni, you wouldn't even break 50k in average attendance.

I guess I don't get it. Was it raining? Sure. Was it also like almost 60 degrees? And after the win last week? That was sad. I thought Texas was pitiful and whatever game years back for the Big 12 north berth that had 20K. But today was a horrible look. Great win and Campbell simply adding to his next contract at a real program.

I don't need a counter argument. Any rational person would realize that winning in Norman is a big deal unless you are Alabama. I'm certainly no fan of ISU but Big 10, Big 12, ACC...there isn't a big difference between the conferences imo.

Do you think its a bid deal for anybody to win in Lincoln Nebraska? It used to be a big deal, but it's no longer. Nebraska is terrible.

Just like its not really a big deal to win in Norman, OK. It used to be a big deal, but it's no longer. Oklahoma is simply the 3rd best team in the worst Power 5 conference.

First off, your screen name is "Kinky." Seriously?

The first sentence in your post proved you are an idiot so (1) it's hard to take you seriously and (2) it was not worth reading any more of your post.

Contrary to the first sentence in your post, I never said Ohio State was the best team in the B1G conference. Right now, the best team is probably Penn State with Wisconsin 2A and Ohio State 2B.

Gotta love Clown fans like "Kinky" spending time on an Iowa Hawkeye board. I know Clown fans feel like the little brother that they are, but come on....

tOSU could lose 3-4 of their last 5 games...we lobbed one underhanded to OU and they smacked it...what makes OU look like they are taking on water is Baylor and ISU making their secondary look lost at times—problems Stoops (Mike) claimed to have fixed after tOSU...

With our bye week, yes, I watched other games across the country

Here are the things that stand out:

Oklahoma is maybe the #3 team IN THE WORST CONFERENCE IN THE COUNTRY.

Agree?

So, the Clowns simply beat the 3rd best team in their conference, which is the WORST CONFERENCE in the country.

Agree?

What's wrong with this type of discussion?

Keep in mind, too, that OU struggled big time vs a terrible Baylor team.

The Clowns simply beat the 3rd best team in their 10 team conference, which is the WORST CONFERENCE in the country. Good for them, but not as impressive as everyone wants to think.

Thanks for this and this thread. Seriously fantastic. If a mod could pin it to the top forever I’d really appreciate it.

The third best team in their conference (if you say so) put a beatdown on the B10's best team (Ohio State) ON THE ROAD! Take off the B10 blinders, please. That was an impressive win by Iowa State on the road. OU isn't the #3 team in the country any more, but they're still easily a top 15 team. Michigan dropped like a stone after losing to Iowa last year, too. In fact, they dropped their last two games of the year after losing to Iowa. So does that make Iowa's win over Michigan last year meaningless? Come on, step away from the Kool-Aid.

what makes OU look like they are taking on water is Baylor and ISU making their secondary look lost at times—problems Stoops (Mike) claimed to have fixed after tOSU...

and that's the point. what is very clear is that Oklahoma is a very average team in a bad conference. unfortunately i did not see the OSU/OU game but based on what OSU looks like right now and what OU looks like right now, I can't imagine how OU pulled that off. OU is struggling to beat mediocre teams like Baylor and Texas and IS-who is going crazy that they beat OU? Again, this is not a Barry Switzer Oklahoma.

Sorry, Clown fans. Your conference is terrible and you got a conference road win against an average Oklahoma team. That would be equivalent to Iowa beating Michigan State on the road, which we almost did. And guess what? We would not have planted an Iowa flag in the middle of Spartan stadium, either.

Iowa beating Nebraska in Lincoln is not a big deal.

IS-who beating Oklahoma is not a big deal, either, especially when you have 2 very average teams where one of them by default has to win.
