We saw what our boy, CJF, could do in his first year playing. Love his all-around game. What does CJF need to add to his game in order to get to the next level?
To me he has the "IT" factor.
CJ definitely has the "IT" factor. If continues to develop physically he's gonna be a hand full.
Haha. Same thought on several boards. Illinois fans figure Kofi and Ayo will return. Add Wake Forest transfer Chaundee Brown. Add five star guard Adam Miller and passing wiz Andre Curbelo. Return Frazier, Giorgi, Damonte. Get 6-6 redshirts Hutcherson and Grandison into the rotation. Likely BT favorites with a couple of other teams.Just looking at his HS video, especially in the state tournament, and given his HS accolades and production you have to wonder how the kid was not a top 100 four star player.
He's skinny and might be a little fragile but very talented.
I think we'll see CJ driving more often, although he beat his man into the lane a lot more often than people think. Plays good defense also.
A lot of talent on next season's roster. Which means the NCAA will cancel the season....the Curse.

And the season will be cancelled. So Illinois.
Coaches expect Kofi back. Scouts are telling him to go back to college.I thought I read that Ayo was committed to leaving. Kofi was still deciding. Bad info?
It is our good fortune that both Louisville and Kentucky, (CJ's home state schools), passed on him.
I thought CJ was from Cincinnati, OH.It is our good fortune that both Louisville and Kentucky, (CJ's home state schools), passed on him.
They passed on him as a junior in high school but they would die to have him now.

He is from Cincinnati.
From Cincy but attended Covington Catholic HS which is in KentuckyThus my questioning the post I replied to.
But not his home state schools...From Cincy but attended Covington Catholic HS which is in Kentucky
CJ is a nice player, but I don't think Louisville or Kentucky has spent a half a second thinking about him. They get elite talent athletically and CJ is not in that category. Like other Iowa shooters, he has to come up with a way to get shots when guys play up in his grill. His nagging injuries clearly impacted his first step and it didn't look like he ever got that back. CJ was much more effective when he was cutting and coming off of screens vs. taking deep 3's.
I thought I heard an announcer on one of our games say CJ was the player of the year in Kentucky his senior year. I might have misunderstood what he said.He is from Cincinnati.
He was. But he's from Cincinnati. My bad
