Congrats @HawkeyeShawn great win for Tri Center especially after the tornado this spring. Very special for the community. I taught at FM and winning the state championship in 2011 brought a lot of pride and special memories to the FM district. Something I'll never forget.

root for a private school in a huge town playing 3A? No fing way. How hard can it really be to field a good team in any sport in the QC/IC/DSM/CR/Ames/Dub/CB/SC areas. Not real hard. 20 years ago maybe. But people/kids today have 0 problem leaving a school for a sports advantage.
I always cheer for Eastern Iowa schools, regardless if they are public or private.
If it's so easy, then why aren't more private schools dominating high school football?

really, how does st. albert do compared to the council bluffs teams historically, Heelan, Assumption?
How did the iowa city schools do when Marv cook was at regina? Where did those good Iowa city boys go?
How does Xavier stack up compared to their cedar rapids peers? I'm guessing no school in metro des moines is switching places with Dowling....
Football requires more kids so it is a bit harder than basketball and baseball. But what do the rankings of those schools like in those sports public/private???
imagine how dominant West hancock or St. ansgar would be if they had more than 2,000 people to draw from....
Makes you wonder what they're doing that nobody else is................
