Super 32

Thompsen loses again. Chooses neutral again and goes to SV. Unable to ride.

Gameplan vs Thompsen = stall away in neutral by not taking any shots and backing up. Get an escape. Win.

Thomsen gets beat, wrestling for 5th...Initiated all the action in the last few minutes, refs swallowed their whistle and wouldn't call stalling on the other kid in the last minute. Still, love what I am seeing from this kid. Creative, chain wrestles, fearless.

Thought Thomsen chose down in the second, was able to easily get out. Other kid chose neutral in the third.

Ok. Missed the first period and a half of the match. Thought it was Thomsen that chose neutral in the third.
Thomsen is struggling with people that have good head hands defense. I know a couple guys that would be great at helping him out with that

Thompsen is still young. I would rather have him than either of the guys that beat him. Tremendous upside.

Thompson did not choose neutral...choose down in the 2

Tomsen did not choose neutral...he took down in the second...got and escape, takedown and rode for over a minute.

You are wrong on all counts.

Two good talents. Thomsen looked the better of the two--was closer on several TD attempts, but Stickley was solid on positioning and scrambled well--and took shots too. Thomsen needed to amp up his urgency and his set-ups by one notch each to break it open a bit more. He's got that slick Dziewa duck and caught Stickley glancing at the clock in the last five seconds. Fun match to watch. Hoping Thomsen gets it done tomorrow.

Thomsen was chewing gum while he was wrestling. Pretty funny but maybe a little too relaxed.

Of course I go to get back on to try and catch his match and Young is walking off the mat with his belt.

Just in case you don't know, you can still watch the match. Click on bracket and then select the weight, all the matches have links to the vids.

Welp, Omaha...

I mean I didn't want it to happen but it has always bothered me when kids do this. I've officiated a whole lot of little kids tournaments and tons of coaches have their kids pick neutral. I just stare and say why. Please show me an ncaa champ that doesn't go down.

For some reason, this is not working for me. It links from the bracket while the match is in session but not after its completed. Still, you can see where they are going with this thing of theirs and its not too shabby Flo boys.

Just posting the score - impressive win for Young
160: Kaleb Young (Punxsatawney, Pa.) dec. Daniel Bullard (Archer, Ga.), 12-5

Sounds like a frustrating match for Thomsen. Very proud of Young! Nice work, young man!

Shit got real for Thomsen in previous round vs Stickley, getting a TD to win in closing seconds. Closer than I expected but it may have been Stickley (it was an SPG kid) that kept it close for most of the match against Spencer Lee at last year's Ironman.

Yeah, it was a Stickley, but it was Ohio High School State Champ Eli Stickley that Lee beat 13-2 in the finals of the Ironman. It was his closest match. Eli was a senior that year and is now at Wisconsin. Eli and Justin Stickely are cousins I think.

Could you please edit with a better way to phrase that last sentence?
