The 1st season, Rue McClanahan was younger than I am now.
Grew up near Tampa, I had t-shirts and went to camps with that logo and phrase. What a flashback. This was early to mid 80’s.

They were big time. Had some of the best players in the world too: Gerd Müller, Rodney Marsh, Tommy Smith, Steve Wegerle, Clyde Best, Arsene Auguste. I know I've posted it here, but have you guys seen the 1975 championship season film, narrated by none other than John Facenda?I went to a couple of Tampa Bay Rowdies / Ft. Lauderdale Strikers matches as a wee kid in the late 70's / early 80's. I was a huge Strikers fan. Gerd Müller was a god.....albeit an aging god.

Terrible trigger discipline.
Ah, but do you listen all the way through to hear the flock of wah-wahs?
Psh, that was the Old Capitol Mall when I was at UI and I was BORN in 1983.
He was my favorite Brave in the early 80s but the numbers don’t support it, IMO.

Holy shit that’s amazing.
At least two Lisa’s
So you also know that USD lost their best player, and probably best player in Coyote history, to a severe leg injury that could be career ending, during that match and the Coyotes rallied back being down to force a 5th set that Houston ultimately won.
Yes it was an awful injury. I’ve never heard an Arena that quiet. She led the NCAA in kills I believe. It was very emotional. There wasn’t a dry eye on USDs bench. They played inspired the rest of the way but just fell short. I’ve really come to appreciate the sport after following it for the past 4 years. So you also know that USD lost their best player, and probably best player in Coyote history, to a severe leg injury that could be career ending, during that match and the Coyotes rallied back being down to force a 5th set that Houston ultimately won.
South Dakota volleyball is pretty good. Fun time too.
