Thank you for all the missed free throws!

Without Kofi, Illinois is above average at best. There is no way Cockburn will get away with what he did last night in the NCAA tournament. The only thing Illinois has going for them is they will probably get a decent seed so they might have an easy path to the Sweet 16, but I think they are extremely vulnerable for an early round upset.

I watch CBB. You should do it too.

Then You’ll see how weak the B1G really is.
GMAFB. Everyone said the Pac-12 was super weak heading into the Tourney last season.

Sometimes I'll watch a marquee Big East game and think those teams are better than anyone the B1G has, then watch a marquee SEC game and think I'm watching Northwestern playing Minnesota. The bottom line is that you just don't know how to compare conferences after 2 months of nothing but conference games. If "tube time" made someone an expert, I'd probably be the country's greatest analyst by now. :p

You guys have improved so much this season, definitely picking you to the S16.
Great game last night, congrats on the W and B1G title. I hope Iowa and Illini meet next Sunday for the tourney title as they are both the best teams in the league right now. But I still hate you bastards! Good luck in the NCAA tourney too. Hope we don’t beat the crap out of each other then too spent the following week.

Hawks definitely let a winnable game slip away last night. Illannoy is going to need more consistency from their guards to make a run in the dance. Iowa needs to keep playing with intensity and make shots, especially FTs, when it counts.

What…get hacked unmercifully - often by three guys - yet still go for 19 & 13?

The tourney is usually more wide open and the refs call it as such. I’m hoping this gives Kofi more one on one opportunities vs. the crap he’s had to put up with all year.

“tThat guy could shoot 20-25 free throws a game - he’s that good - but we can’t let that happen; we have to protect stiffs like Rebrača from fouling out in the first half.”

What were the Illinois fans chanting at Iowa players when they were at the line?

Sometimes it's best to lay off the whiskey before a game.

Whatever, good luck in the tourney. I wouldn't worry about having to cancel any plans for the second weekend if I were you.

Your freaking joking right? Kofi has one basic move, post and bull your ass out of the way so he can go up. He has no shot of any kind outside of 4 or 5 ft. Take a look at Garza last year and Dickenson for Michigan this season. Both hustle to their spot and then use foot work and a variety of moves, rips, up and unders, step backs hooks with either hand and jumpers. Those are basketball moves. Kofi has damn near none of this in his game. His game is ALL about displacing the guy guarding him. Moving him back with his body. Thats his game. Well here's a note. Displacing your opponent is an offensive foul by rule! its just that simple. Unfortunately its Kofi that the refs don't want to foul out in the first half EVERY game, so they simply don't call his bull rush tactics at all. This leaves his opponents with ZERO option but to foul, as they try in vain to reestablish contact, and put a body on him, just so he can displace them from their position again. HE's the one that turns every game into a WWE match in the lane every game. What he's doing has no place in basketball.

I can see you’re very new to this basketball thing. Perhaps given Iowa’s traditional spot as a wrestling power that is your sport because it certainly isn’t hoops.
I’ll give you something to ponder as a start of your hardwood education:

When you catch the ball and immediately have 2-3 guys Edward Scissorhands-ing the defense is reducing the game into a WWE match.

Oh, and your comically simplistic description of Kofi is Shaquille O’Neill to a tee. Yes, HOF Shaq,
so perhaps your understanding of what is/is not an offensive foul requires a bit more observation and research.

In all seriousness dude, you’re post is so far off base I don’t know where to begin.

I don't give a shit about his physicality, thats been a part of the game for decades.

What I care about is he can't do anything without shuffling his feet.

Illinois better hope they don't get reffs that can see in the tournament.

I get that since Kofi is your guy your alright with his limited , just bull everyone over game, like thats actually basketball your watching. Take a freaking poll among any non Illini fans and ask if thats the way the game is supposed to be played, because thats NOT basketball. Your referencing Kofi to Shaq is a joke as well. Tell you what, take Garza, Dickenson and Kofi, and play them on a game. The rules are you have to catch the ball at the free throw line, and you can't displace the defender by simply running him over with your body. Kofii would be lucky to score, while the other too could rely on their high skill level to be double figure scorers. If Kofi can push people under the basket, (which is not supposed to be legal to simple move the defender out of position), he wouldn't be able to do bubkas.

How about we just have Kofi and Dickinson go one on one, you know, guys that actually have B1G titles.

Kofi is an incredible physical specimen, but to suggest he has a lot basketball skills on the offensive end of the court would be a gross exaggeration. He is a force within five feet of the basket on both ends.

As a Hawk fan, I am not going to say that Kofi is all world skill wise, but to try and stop his inside game is a freaking job. And, I do think he has gotten better at passing out of the post. Let me put it another way. Is there any of us Hawk fans who would not take him as our center in a heartbeat? I freaking would.

I took a look at Dickinson's performances vs Kofi and started laughing again at your post.

Kofi's added a bunch to his game this season, jump hook now with either hand and improved touch. And raised his FT % 90 points. Sounds like you just haven't watched enough of his games.

And no, he doesn't take many shots outside of 5' because those would be bad shots unless they are 3 pointers. He's there to get layups, dunks, rebounds and draw attention to get the Illiini 3 point shooters open looks.
