wanted to create this thread to give coach some props. He took a lot of heat from a lot of people. People including myself banged on him an unbelievable amount. Crow tastes pretty damn good. Go Hawks!

I agree with Hawk_4shur. KF deserved criticism and scrutiny for how stagnant the program was getting and for a lot of IMHO mismanagement of personnel (i.e. Rudock over Beathard, Weisman staying at RB) and in-game coaching blunders. But legitimate criticism boiled over into ludicrous accusations (like KF doesn't care about winning, has the football IQ of a fruit fly, etc.) and that type of talk was uncalled for, disrespectful, and in truth ignorant.

I'm here to eat the crow too. I said this was a 6-6 team preseason.... Damn how wrong was I? Quickly became a believer aftwr the ISU game and said we'd go to Jan1 bowl. After the Northwestern game I said we'd win out.

Kirk made good changes and the team and program responded. Kirk is a Legend.

Before the season I thought 8 wins was their ceiling. This 12-0 ride has been unbelievable and I'm making a point to enjoy every moment, as seasons like these don't come around all too often.

Easily B1G Ten Coach of the Year, and if they win the conference championship game he should be National Coach of the Year.

I'll eat crow. However, let's give credit to Kirk for being man enough to change his ways. His clock management this season was by far the best in his entire coaching tenure. He took more chances (4th down) and more aggressive before halftimes (rarely did we see Iowa trying to run out the clock before the half). He changed his practice schedule and focused more on the football team and less on fundraising, etc. So, kudos to the new Capt Kirk, I guess you really can teach an old dog new tricks.
