To Friday, the better I feel about this game. I really think we're poised for a statement game. The way the offense has been playing, I can't see Nebraska having tons of success defensively. All we need is the defense to come with for a week and I think we put the hammer down. Kirk has referenced last year's Nebraska game a bunch with the turnaround, and about how he didn't like what he saw in himself or his program. I just think there's a lot of motivation on the Iowa side for this game not to mention another trophy game and a chance to take back what's ours.
We're the better football team. We're better on the lines, and we're better overall. If we play our game, Nebraska can't beat us. The outsiders and analysts can continue doubting, and the hawks can just keep on winning. I can't wait for Friday and I think this is a big week and a big win for our hawks.

They're 5-6, I don't think there is a way to make a "statement" against a team with a losing record. But I agree this shouldn't be close.

I believe this will be a very close contest ----except----- one big TO very early leading to an Iowa TD, Iowa up by 10 or more early , then I think you have a 50/50 chance of a blowout 20-25 point win. In that scenario, I believe there is a good chance TA presses to hard and Iowa capitizes on forced passes (Desmond breaks the INT record) while the offense eats clock and wears down the Nebby D with power running and TE curls.

I feel better about this game than "any" we have played. That scares me. I CAN'T SLEEP!!!!!!

48-17 Iowa

Nebraska comes crashing back to reality, halting that amazing run of two games in a row they were on while KF has last years loss (as well as the comments by their AD made when he sent Pelini packing) fresh in his memory. Iowa will get off to a fast start, and this game will be reminiscent of Michigan State in 2010.

I like it. But how are they gonna score 17? I mean, "really"?

As I was heading home, one fox sports guy said something that KF should use to motivate his players,

Last year the AD said, "we don't measure our program with Iowa." Basically saying beating Iowa means nothing to his program. They think their better than us. I hope KF posts that all over the locker room. I would love to see that stadium a quarter full when the 4th quarter starts!

I agree with the OP. Can't wait to win in Lincoln again. Hawks are too sound, Huskers are too dysfunctional. Hawks win for sure and might blow them out.

42-23

Yes, Koehn makes all his extra points, and Neb gets a late score to make it closer than it really was!

Hope our offense is clicking and Nebby's is rusty with a week off. Looks like a bad weather game and we just played in one.

I've been an Iowa fan my entire life (yes, at birth), and there has ALWAYS been "the other shoe". I am very worried that Friday is when it drops.

Actually glad we are on the road in this one, and glad we are not favored much, if at all. Stay focused for 4 quarters.

But, the Q4, Nebby will run a fake punt, fumblerooski, reverse pass to a 3rd string defensive lineman that lined up as a gunner. Six of our defensive players will tear ACL's on the play, and 2 others will run into each other and suffer concussions. Their punter, while attempting to block Desmond King, will get launched out of bounds and hit Beatherd, who also tears his ACL.

Nebby will score and win 42-41.

Are you glad that you are on a freedom loving message board as opposed to Nebraska's Stalinistic, Hitler book burning, poster banning piece of trash board?

Yes...I appreciate the respect for free speech.

Not sure why our mods would do that. It might be more so that they know our scrollers would lose their minds.

Here's a response I gave earlier today on our board in response to an OP that wonders if Husker fans are overly confident.

I believe there are quantifiable reasons for this confidence.....here are some of them:

Iowa's SOS is 65th

Somebody posted the combined W/L record of both team's opponents this year. Saw it somewhere yesterday. It's ridiculous and reveals the disparity in the level of competition both teams have faced this year. That explains most of Iowa's perfect record.

Their current record conceals a bit of a house of cards.

If the Huskers have indeed reached a turning point installing our new systems, we should continue to execute at a higher level like we have seen the last two games.

KF's first year at Iowa birthed a 1-10 record. Iowa fans that joke about our record this year forget the impact a new system can have on a program.

The MSU game induced confidence amongst our team. I don't think Iowa's record is affecting our guys mentally at all.

Our team is healthy and experienced at this point.

Hawkeyes are running out of gas.....according to their experts.

We're rested and had extra time to game prep.

We're tough to run on.

We're at the top in the B1G for passing offense.

MR is good in big game situations.

KF is 1-5 against NU

It's in Lincoln.....almost twice as many fans will be at this game than the most attended game Iowa has played anywhere this season.

Statistically it's extremely hard for a team to run the season undefeated. The odds are not in their favor.

We have very little to lose. Should be able to play loose and aggressive.

It's Iowa for God's sake. They just don't beat Nebraska very often. Even in this recent era where we've been a shadow of our former self.

It would not be a surprise at all to win this by two TD's

We all know at least 5 reasons why we could lose it too. I just think that the previously listed issues give us a much better chance than a lot of nervous Nellie's are considering
.

So.....I acknowledge that Iowa has a chance to win this. But, the idea that the Hawks are going to come into Lincoln and curb stomp us is ridiculous.

I had no clue Memorial was so big. Damn. There it is boys. I have said it a couple times. Hawks should just stay home for this one. Enjoy their thanksgiving weekend instead of going to get embarrassed by the mighty huskers. Seriously, why even bother?

Beat Iowa by two touchdowns? You lost all credibility with that post. Shows how little you know about Iowa football. The fact of the matter is this: Iowa is flat out better on both lines than Nebraska. If Iowa plays the same game they've played all season, Nebraska can't beat Iowa. You will play from behind the whole game and Iowa will salt it away in the fourth quarter. I'm more inclined to think this game will look a lot like 2 years ago in Lincoln. Iowa will be more physical and flat out tougher, and they will claim the heroes trophy, a 12-0 record, and big f--k you to eichorst and the rest of Nebraska nation who think "it's Iowa for God's sake".

Keep talking, Skippy.....hopefully your team is viewing the matchup the same way. Best team you will see all year.....lets reconvene here on Saturday.

If I'm wrong I'll offer up a legit apology for not taking your team as seriously as your fan base is.

Skippy? Listen, you came to the Iowa boards to run your pie hole. Maybe you should check yourself. You don't see me on the Nebraska boards starting shit. Besides, I'm smarter than to run my mouth at an 11-0 group when mine is a very mediocre 5-6. You better come back Saturday to eat your words. Keep doubting the hawks and we'll just keep on winning and pissing off the country.

Fair enough....

how about if you and your big red gang of blowhards are wrong, you don''t come back. I can't speak for the rest of the board, but F*CK your apology.

you fanbase has been beating their chest for two weeks after getting a gift from the refs against MSU and by beating a horrible rutgers team. You would swear the records of the teams were reversed based upon what you fools have been spewing.

your apology won't mean sh*t

My guess is it will be close enough in the 4th quarter for both teams to have a decent chance. Aside from the Wisky game, we have scored at least 27 in all of them, and Nebby's D is nowhere near Wisky's...unless CJ gets hurt, I expect the Hawks to score 35 or more. I'm thinking 5-7 point win for the Hawks

10 point win for the Hawks against Nebraska...The game that worried me was Indiana

The corncob would be wise to rest their best players. They obviously expect to win a national championship next season. They're going to need all their players to be healthy for spring practices.
