The closer we get

The corncob would be wise to rest their best players. They obviously expect to win a national championship next season. They're going to need all their players to be healthy for spring practices.
They'll have plenty of time to rest over the summer. Dumb game plan dude.

Their coach is bad, but not that bad.

You speak of fantasy.
Look, I know you're like half car, half bird or whatever, but our team looks pretty weak to real human eyes.

Nebraska just is the better team despite their awful record. It's a sad state of affairs, but we haven't played anyone this year and they are just rolling all of the sudden and playing to their potential while we are in way over our skis.

K, thanks. You're a husker fan but okay. Who's your favorite d-lineman? Do feel Roth overshadowed anyone on the line when he was here?

Personally, I'm a big fan of JJ and Nathan. Of course a player like Roth is going to steal the spotlight. Is that even a question?

Minnesota was close and they were less than 5-6, so expect a hard fought and another close game.

peace

MN scored a TD with barely over a minute left to make the game look closer than it was. When a team becomes dependent on onside kicks halfway through the fourth quarter, they've been handled. It was the same with Indiana with Iowa up 35-20 in the fourth quarter before a late TD by Indiana and a failed onside kick. I'm not saying Iowa blew those teams out, but they were never really in danger of losing either game. There will be some close wins here and there throughout a season, but those weren't really scary games halfway the fourth quarter. They just pissed me off (and other fans, too) in the sense that they cut the margin of victory down in such a way as to make it appear that Iowa didn't control the game. They did even though their defense was not playing their best ball of the year. The offense sure as hell as hammering those teams, though. If those games had gone another 60 minutes, Iowa would have had 90 on the scoreboard .. and, yeah, IN and MN may have had 65 or 70 ... at best.

The word is relieved. As in, HawkeyeinOmaha has been relieved of any chance of getting laid due to his low IQ.

Where'd the dodge bag who ran his mouth and said he'd come back to eat his words? Shocking he's gone now.

Right here, pal.......congrats on your victory. You're a solid, disciplined team.....though you might have made your case better if you would have converted at least one 3rd down.

Otherwise, Tommy Armstrong says 'you're welcome'

Props to you for coming back. Hopefully next year you're smarter than to come on here and talk a bunch of shit to Iowa fans. 12-0!!!!

I only ended up here because of some crazy sh@t that had spilled over onto our site mid week.

Hope you guys kick ass the rest of the way.

talmid27,

Eat $h1t you c(un)t.

You barely won that game, pussy boy.

If we didn't have a retard QB with a superhero complex you'd have to settle for beating your wife, kids & dog this week.

Couldn't convert one 3rd down......and given 14 points directly off of INT's.....nice. A clear demonstration of Hawkeye domination. Lol.....

That right there shows you don't know much about football. It's about controlling a game, executing a game plan, and controlling the line of scrimmage. That's what we do and how we win games and we did it beautifully on Friday. Iowa completely controlled the game and never felt threatened by your huskers. The funny thing and Whst you Nebraska idiots fall to realize or understand is that the way Iowa is winning games, the way they play, the philosophy that dictates how we play, is EXACTLY the same as what Dr. Tom used in the 90s to win national championships. The schemes are different, we aren't running option and we throw a lot more effectively, but the philosophy of controlling games and dominating the line of scrimmage and executing a game plan week to week is exactly the same!

Iowa won, deal with it. You're not relevant, deal with it.

Your time and posts should be spent lobbying the Motor City letting them know what a deserving 5-7 team you are.

I will give you credit for not throwing in a "but, but 5 championships" into your retarded rampblings

Who needs to convert 3rd downs when Canzeri is streaking down the sidelines for touchdowns? Would it have been any different if those plays were on um 3rd down? Take your loser math and go home.

I understand the game, friend. And you're correct in your assessment.....particularly in the fact that well executed, fundamental football will always stand a chance to do well. You guys are demonstrating that this season.

But to suggest you controlled the line of scrimmage on offense is not realistic. You couldn't convert one 3rd down in 9 attempts. Hardly control.

You had two TD rambles where our true freshman safety....who came in for N Gerry(ejected).....was out of position. If Nate's in the game those don't go for TD's. Very different outcome.

Two TD's directly from INT's.....with two more INT's for good measure. No domination is needed.

You won the game....but domination is not the word. Anyone with eyes saw that you had some things fall your way. The roughing the passer call was a joke.....momentum changers. You got several.

I hope you do win out. I don't share the hatred that some of your fans exhibit. Rude as hell.

Here's the fact of it all, Iowa ran effectively and I don't buy for a second that gerry would've changed anything. We should've broke that same run in the first quarter for 6 with gerry in the game. We ran effectively and if CJ plays even an average game for him with the receivers we had running open, it would've been blow out city. That's a fact. Our two best players arguably played their worst games of the year and we still held a double digit lead virtually the whole second half. It's not a questionable Iowa win. We were hands down the better team regardless of what yardage totals tell you. If you know football, you won't argue that.

Don't agree. You won based on some circumstances......and kudos cause that's how it's played.

The yardage on both sides of the ball says a lot.....you can't ignore that because that speaks to execution. What the yards don't speak to is circumstances.....of which you capitalized on and how you won.

That's completely different than domination football. You won the situational game....which a couple changes completely changes this outcome.

But enough of the past......go kick the East's ass.
