He’s got to be a fun guy to be around this week. Overpaid billions to purchase twitter only to turn it into Truth Social 2.0, Tesla stock at a 2+ year low (and still falling), and booed by Chapelle fans.

Love that this thread is still going. Twitter was an arm of the democratic party (along with FB, YT, and every major news org in the country) with proof that they put their weight on elections. So instead of being glad that at least site is allowing free speech, the left is losing their minds since they don't have blanket control of the narrative.

It's just amazing to me how completely tone deaf Musk is about much of anything. His only really profitable business is based heavily in customers on the left of the spectrum, so he's done everything he can to alienate his entire customer base. His narcissism is going to destroy him. He started getting a lot of praise from the right and just a bit of criticism from the left and so decided to go full on MAGA which will wind up sinking his electric car business if he doesn't sell it off, and he's doing a heck of a job sinking Twitter's reputation at the same time.

right now there are no rules. Musk just bans whomever he doesn't personally like. As problematic as twitter's earlier policies were, and they had problems, at least they had policies they attempted to follow. Running a social media site may be just the most difficult thing available, because it turns out that maybe absolute free speech isn't the best available option especially when something like social media amplifies insanity to make it seem normal.
No clue, I would be willing to bet that it would not have changed a single vote here in HORT based on the contentiousness in the day-to-day posting by each side concerning the 2020 POTUS election.
That said, disinformation seemingly has some effect, to the extent of actual votes changing that would be difficult to calculate as feedback from voters is the only gauge and the validity of their comment could not be confirmed. .
As to why people do it, probably numerous reasons that likely all boil down to divisive party politics, the laptop story nor the fake ballots would have changed my vote, would it have changed yours?

I believe Elon already made a statement that Jones wouldn't be unbanned from the platform.
