The Elon Musk Twitter shitshow

I was skeptical at first but major signs that Elon is deliberatley steering Twitter towards insolvency and a bankruptcy petition in order to restructure debt. He paid a premium of approximately 35% above market value to acquire Twitter and then found himself unable to escape the acquisition bid without paying an onerous termination fee (and the embarrasment of perceived failure).

He is not dumb; he knows tht he is paying the price for this deal. He can afford it in the short term but Twitter is bleeding revenues. There is no indiction he intends to change the dubious management strategy employed under his leadership. Chapter 11 reorganization at some point is my guess.

But he's a guy that's acting really really really dumb. I'm really beginning to think this is another guy who was born on 3rd base and had a run of making good maybe lucky choices (remember, he's not even really a Steve Jobs visionary type, he took over businesses, he's never been the originator of anything).

He's a guy that's declared war on his own business model. How is going out of his way to piss off the demographic most likely to buy the product of his most valuable asset (Tesla) not dumb?

LOL this is pretty funny. I don’t get why people are still on it. What’s next banning any negative discussions on Tesla or SpaceX??

“Free speech absolutist”…..LOL

He won't get out that easily, but what is tens of billions to him I guess.

A lot of you guys are acting really happy today, celebrating what you feel is a failed business venture....weird press.

The only team I have ever cheered against is NE, they deserve it.

Well, his tantrum model of running a business is going to destroy a place that billions around the world have used in both good and bad ways. It's better for that to go up in flames sooner rather than later so he can maybe be forced out and someone with sensible policies allowed to run the place.

I'm not arguing that twitter was ran well before, only that elon thinking he's the smartest man in the world who understands social interactions better than anyone and he alone being the mind that can fix twitter on impulse is just a disaster. And yes, I do laugh seeing a narcissistic billionaire finally hang himself.

This is going to be taught in business schools for years as the worst business decision of all time. Why you don't make business deals on impulse, but instead should actually research value, business plans, put together teams of people who truly understand the business before making an offer bound up in reasonable terms. Also, don't make offers to buy businesses just because you're mad at them as that can be legally enforced. So yeah, maybe understand the law before you run your mouth.

There are people all over the world bitching about Elon/Twitter non-stop, yet they refuse to leave and are livid when they (or the people they follow) are silenced or banned.

Seems this ‘there’s no such thing as bad publicity’ approach of his is working out fine.

I think it’s less about Twitter than the simple fact that most people just don’t like jerks, and love when they get their comeuppance. This is nothing new in our society.

The defenders and cultish behavior surrounding Musk just adds to the dislike.
